Murat POV:

It was a nice morning. I sat in the backyard swing basking in in the early morning sun and taking in the beauty of the nature. It's been 12 weeks. 12 weeks after the Ipek and Kerem's wedding. And 6 weeks after the court's verdict. Deriya was punished. Apparently, Hayat had managed to uncover more of her crimes before the court.

Flashback:

The judge: Taking a note of all the evidence present, Mrs. Deriya Sarsilmaaz is pronounced guilty. She is charged with lifetime of imprisonment.

The judge had provided the verdict and Deriya was guilty. The police took her into the custody, and soon everyone left the courtroom.

Hayat: Congratulations Murat! (And kissed my cheek. She entwined her hands with mine) Let's go and celebrate the victory at that seaside cafe!

(A/N: The cafe where Hayat announced publicly that she was in love with Murat, in the serial Ask Laftan Anlamaz)

Murat:  You go ahead, I want to have a last talk with Doruk.

Hayat: (Nodding her head) Don't be too long.

Murat: Hmm.

I walked towards Doruk who had his head in his hands. Sitting beside him I said, "Look where you have got yourself Doruk. You had no reason to hate me. I had loved you like my own little brother. If you wanted to be the CEO of Sarte so desperately, you should have just asked! I would have done that for you. You had no reason to mess up my life so bad. You took away my Hayat from me. You played with the Asli's life by kidnapping her. You put all the employees at risk when you tried to scam and drain my bank balance. Look what Karma has done to you now. You wanted Sarte, you got Sarte. But see the cost. You sold the Sarsilmaaz mansion to revive Sarte after your scam partner double crossed you. But look where Sarte is. It is standing on its last leg. All the talented designers have resigned. The girl who loved you with all her heart, what did you do to her? Refused to marry her just for the sake of your mother? Well, your mother is in jail for the rest of her life. Good luck trying to go back with your fiancé who was with you only for your money."  I had no sympathy for this man. He was reaping what he sowed. I got up to walk away but paused, " About Asli. You left her. You destroyed her. But she has rebuilt her life with the man who loves her. If you show up in her life again for any reason and I mean any reason, I swear to God, I will destroy you."

I walked to the parking lot where Hayat was waiting for me. Seeing her happy smile with that dimple, completely changed my mood. A positive vibe hit me. We went to have lunch to the cafe that had our memories.

"Hellooo?" she said snapping fingers in front of me breaking me out of my trance, and asked "Where were you lost?" "Nothing" I said and smiled. "She returned my smile and said, "Get ready we are getting late" seeing my confused expression, she added, "Remember Serkan and Asli have invited us to their house?"  "Yup. I'll see you in 5 minutes." I said getting up and going upstairs to change into some more appropriate clothes. "I will be driving" she yelled behind my back.

Who is "She" you must be wondering. She is none other than Hayat. We had decided to take a break from the marriage and go back to dating stage after the whole Court drama was over. But once it was over, we were basically inseparable. So, we stayed together. Of course, we would still be having the wedding of Hayat's dreams on the first anniversary of our marriage.

"Good morning!" greeted Asli and Serkan as they received us. They had invited all of the family and Kerem-Ipek for breakfast this morning. Cling-Cling-Cling. Serkan raised his glass and gathered all of our attention. "So, this morning we have invited all of you for breakfast as we have some amazing news and want you to be a part of our happiness." He took a long pause and continued, "Me and Asli are expecting!" The moment he finished his sentence, everyone was hooting and congratulating the new couple.

This was what life was now. I am happily married to the love of my life. Setting up a new business with her, here, in Canada. Serkan and Asli were becoming parents. Kerem and Ipek have also shifted here since I provided Kerem with employment. I have no idea where my father is, but I am praying that wherever he is, he's happy and healthy. Hayat's family is very warm and welcoming to me and loves me like their own.

I finally found my light at the end of the long tunnel. The tunnel was long and dark and scary, but it had to end. And it did. All the scary experiences and bad memories I had in the tunnel, I locked them in the memory box and threw the key in the deep blue sea. As I made it out the other end of the tunnel and found my sunshine, my family, my peace. It's true, "Life goes on".
