"Uncle Scrooge, you're letting the rain in!" Della complained. "What's the...?" She gasped when she looked over his shoulder.

The little girl paid Della no mind, instead deciding to focus on Scrooge. She cocked her head and continued to stare at him with wide eyes.

"Aww, she's so cute!" Della gushed, jumping up and down as Scrooge picked up the baby. "Can we keep her?!"

Donald, on the other hand, just stood there, dumbfounded and mouth agape.

"Who would just leave a wee bairn on my doorstep in this pouring rain?" Scrooge wondered before finding a note on the basket and reading it aloud.

"Dear Scrooge,

I am sending you my granddaughter, Julianna. Her parents have unexpectedly left and I have no source of income to provide for her. Please take care of her, Scroogey.

Love, your sister, Matilda."

"Wow, Aunt Matilda had a kid? I didn't know that!" Della exclaimed as she eyed the baby. "She does kinda look like you, huh?"

Scrooge stared at the little girl cradled in his arms who was gazing up at him. Della was right; she had his and Matilda's light yellow-orange beak and legs, but she seemed to take after Della a bit as well, having short, brown hair that reached her neck.

"She does," he replied, choking up a bit before turning his attention back to Julianna. "Hi there, lass. I'm your Uncle Scrooge."

The girl cocked her head again and put a small hand on his chest. "Unca?"

Okay, now he really was going to cry.

"Yes, that's me, lass," Scrooge replied, rubbing her short hair softly. "I'm your Unca."

"I'll call you Julie. Julie McDuck."
