Everyone had different reactions to Julie's sudden arrival at McDuck Manor. Scrooge was amazed (and a little irritated with Matilda for never telling him about his great-niece) that he was a great-uncle to this little girl. Della was ecstatic that she finally had a female cousin, and Donald was...quiet about the whole thing, which worried his uncle.
As for Julie herself, the poor thing didn't know that she'd been recently orphaned and began to connect with Scrooge and Della seamlessly. If Scrooge had to describe her in a few words, it would be curious, quiet, and happy. But she was the most interested in her new first-cousin, Donald.
When he walked past her, she whined from Della's lap and reached out for him.
"Want your cousin, eh lass?" Scrooge teased, chuckling when the little girl nodded. "Lad, Julie wants to see you!"
"Uh, okay?" Donald hesitantly walked into the TV room to join his family. Julie immediately giggled and babbled away as she continued to reach for him.
Della laughed. "I think she wants to say hi. Here, you take her," she offered, handing Julie over to her brother.
Donald slowly took his little cousin into his arms, and could feel his heart melt when she snuggled closer to his chest.
"Aww, she likes you, Donny!" Della squealed.
"Y-yeah," he said, putting a hand on her back to hug her. "I guess she does."
