(Lena's POV)

Aunt Magica was laughing manically as I crept up to Scrooge's bed.

"Will you stop? That's really annoying!" I hissed, giving the shadowy form of my aunt a glare before I took out my diamond dagger and began sawing at Scrooge's necklace containing his Number One Dime.

"You're really annoying!" Aunt Magica rebutted. "I give you one simple task!"

My eyes widened. "Simple? How in the heck is this simple?" I asked incredulously.

"All you have to do is pose as the purple one's friend. Gain her trust. Get invited to a series of sleepovers, forge a Vesuvian diamond dagger that can cut through anything, sneak into Scrooge's room while sleeps to enact my grim revenge, and-"

"-and cut loose Scrooge's number one dime without him waking up while you yell at me the whole time!" I growled.

Scrooge rolled over in his sleep and I continued cutting the necklace as quickly as I could. The sooner I got the dime, the sooner I'd be free and rid of Aunt Magica forever.

"I'm not yelling, I'm whispering harshly!" Aunt Magica defended. "You want your freedom, you do as I order!"

"I'm not your puppet," I snapped quietly. "You really want to hurt Scrooge, be my guest."

I wouldn't admit it to Magica, but part of me regretted saying that last part. I mean, Mr. McDuck and his family had been more kind to me in a couple of months than my aunt had been to me my whole life.

"I would LOVE to, but-" my aunt demonstrated that she couldn't even touch Scrooge in her shadow form. "I miss carnage," she lamented.

Magica's attention turned to the moon. "Quickly! The eclipse is coming! With it, my power grows but it's futile without the dime!"

"Would you just quiet down?! We don't want to get caught-"

Scrooge's bedroom door creaked open to reveal Julie with a confused look on her face.

"Lena, what are you doing?" she asked, arching an eyebrow.

I quickly hid the dagger behind my back. "Uhhhh..."

As I stalled, Scrooge began to stir and talk in his sleep. Julie gasped, grabbing my hand and running out of the room with me in tow before he woke up.

Julie pulled me into the kitchen, both of us still a bit out of breath from running. She brushed her bangs back with a sigh.

"What were you doing in Uncle Scrooge's room?" she asked again.

"What were you doing there?" I shot back.

Julie chuckled, shaking her head a little. "Come with me; it's about time you met them."

I cocked my head, a little confused, but I followed her anyway. When we reached our destination, I rolled my eyes a little.

"Hood, this is just your bedroom," I groaned, running a hand down my face. "I've seen it before."

With a soft smile, Julie opened the door for me. "Just don't wake them up, okay?"

"What are you-?"

And that's when my beak hit the floor.

In the middle of Julie's room, there were two new additions: a foam bed mattress and a small crib. And who should be fast asleep on that mattress but a little girl who looked just like Julie, albeit smaller and with shorter hair.
