"Morning, Steve. Thank you," I said as I flashed him a sweet smile. Butterflies were submerging my stomach. I picked up the cup from the machine and looked at him. He pressed a button on the coffee machine and said: "Do you have any plans for this weekend?" He leaned on the machine while looking down at me.

I smiled back and asked: "No, why?"

"Oh, nice. There's this new bar downtown, and I was thinking if you're up to going on a date." He was trying to make eye contact, and I wanted to avoid it. He was wearing a pair of joggers and a hoodie.

"Yeah, I mean sure. I would love to."

Steve Stone is the new PE teacher, and he is the sweetest. He's about a head taller than me with a slim body. His green orbs are the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. And his golden locks look like the angels made them. He came to school two weeks ago as an exchange teacher.

We have been flirting for almost a week now. Every time I talk to him, I like him more. But I'm too much of a chicken to invite him on a drink or date, so it's perfect that he asked first.

"Great, then I'll send you the address. See you there on Saturday at seven, if it's cool for ya'?"

I smiled at him and said: "That would be perfect!"

He smiled at me with those beautiful white teeth. "Nice. See you around."

I smiled back and said: "No problem, see you around."

He started walking away, and I called out: "Steve, the coffee!" I grabbed it from the machine and handed it to him.

"Thanks, sweet cheeks." He picked it from my hands, our fingers brushed each other.

Without thinking I said: "If you're free for lunch, maybe we could eat lunch ... together?"

He stopped for a moment and then said: "Yeah, sure. Shall we meet in the cafeteria?"

"Sure. See you there," I replied confidently, and we parted ways. I quickly walked into Laura's office. She froze in shock as she looked at me. After a moment, she said: "Girl, what happened to you?"

"I asked Steve to lunch."

She let out an annoying sigh and rolled her eyes. "Good job! Do you want a treat?" she said sarcastically. My mind immediately went to the devil.

"Don't fucking say that again!" I angrily said. I think that him comparing me to a dog is enough.

"Sheesh! Someone's cranky."

"Sorry, cuz' my life isn't sunshine and rainbows all the time. And that I'm not as good-looking as you."

She again rolled her eyes and said: "Don't be like that. Do you think that Steve would even flirt with you if he didn't find you "attractive"?"

"Of course, he wouldn't!" I angrily said before sitting down on one of the chairs in front of her desk. She stopped typing on the computer and looked at me. "Sweetheart, don't you think that that explains something? I mean you can definitely see it, but apparently, you don't understand it."

I let out a small scoff. "Are you saying that I'm stupid?"

She leaned forward before saying: "Girl, please don't get all defensive. Understand that Steve likes you. The whole school can see that. Just be honest and be yourself. He likes that. Be that weird combination of goofy and serious. And be a little bolder for Buddha's sake!"

I let out a long sigh before taking a sip of the warm magic potion.

"Please, Amalia."

I stood up and looked down at her. "Look, Laura. It can be easy for you to be bold. Everyone likes you! You're confident, sexy, and beautiful. You have a bubbly personality, and you're the type of person that people like. If you say something that people don't like, they still accept it because of your looks. I'm not that. Your perfect figure and you're long blond hair mesmerise every guy that you meet-"
