She stopped and looked back at me in surprise. "You don't know?"
"No. He never mentioned you to me."
"Interesting," she said before smiling.
"What do you mean?"
"He's a smart piece of shit." I could hear her say under her breath.
"Wait a moment," I said, trying to get her attention.
"Okay, let's try these dresses on."
"Please, answer my question. What hobby do you share?"
She brushed me off by putting me into a changing room with a dress in my hands. "Put this on. Call me if you need help."
I pushed my curiosity to the side and tried the first dress on. It had a mermaid cut and lots of sparkles.
"Do you like it?" Dapria said as she spun me on the pedestal.
I moved in front of the mirror left and right while watching the dress fall. From the front it's perfect, but from the side, I look pregnant.
That's a no-go. I want to eat cake at my wedding.
"Let's try the next one," I said as I looked down at her.
After trying a couple of dresses with no satisfaction we decided to choose the lingerie first.
She showed me only what Neil asked her to. After some time, we decided to layer a couple of layers of lingerie to make a cohesive look. I was in the dressing room, trying to put everything on. The first layer was a minimalistic thong and a bra made of white lace. The coverage was minimal. Then I put the second layer on; it was a white leather harness. The third layer was a normal white night dress.
A knock resonated through the small changing room. "Excuse me. I forgot to give you the corset. May I come in?"
I let Dapria come in with the white beaded corset. She started putting it on me. We were both silent, and I was alright with that, but she wasn't.
"Where did you two meet?"
"At work," I replied shortly. I decided to ignore our university's past.
"Do you love him?"
"If I didn't love him, I wouldn't be marrying him."
She hummed something I couldn't make out in response while having a silly smile.
After that, I tried on a few dresses. I was already tired of so many similar ones. Right now, I was in the A-line, which had a V-neckline and straps. From top to hip, it's covered in lace, beads and rhinestones. Out of the bunch, I liked this one the most, but something wasn't right.
"Is this the one?" Dapria asked while smiling at me.
I smiled back at her through the reflection in the mirror. "I like it, but something is not right."
"Should we try it with the veil?"
"Sure."
She put the veil on me, and the "magic" happened. I already saw myself walking down the aisle to Neil.
"This is the one," I said while sliding my hands over the beaded and rhinestones part of the dress.
She smiled at me as she said: "I can see it from your eyes."
"What about the whole? I don't know how to explain it," I said while moving my hands around.
"We'll have everything ready for tomorrow morning."
"Thank you."
I slowly undressed from all the layers of clothing and handed them to Dapria. While I was fixing my frizzy hair in the mirror, I called Neil.
