My whole being was shaking. Slowly I started to wake up.

I heard a muffled voice saying: "Wake up! Please, wake up!"

I finally opened my eyes to see a worried Neil. As his eyes met mine his expression quickly relaxed. He wrapped his arms around me. "I was so scared. You didn't answer my calls, and you didn't open the door. I was so scared. I thought that I lost you again," he whispered.

I started to push him away with all the strength I had, but with no use. His chest was rising faster than usual, and I could hear his heart beating out of his chest.

"Let me go!" I shouted through my sore throat as I kept pushing him away. Again, tears started to form in my eyes as I remembered what I saw.

"Hey, hey, Puppy. It's me," Neil said as he tried to calm me down. Pain rose in my chest as he kept acting this sweetly to me while seeing another woman behind my back.

I started punching his chest. "You're a liar! You're like all the other men around me, liars! Fucking liars! You're a cheater and and-" Tears made me hiccup.

"Shhh, calm down, Puppy."

"Go away! I don't want to see you again!!" I shouted through my tears. My sight was getting foggy from the tears. I just wanted to end everything as fast as I could. I was already hurt enough. I was stupid! I'm the one at fault here, I let him inside my heart!

"Why?" he said as if he was the hurt one.

I calmed down me crying enough to utter: "You do-n't l-ove me!!"

He cupped my face with his hands and made me look right into his eyes. "Puppy, I love you more than you can imagine! You're my everything. My breath, my sight, the blood cruising through my veins. I can't live without you." Before I could curse him more, he slowly pressed his lips against mine. I kissed him back without hesitation as warm tears were floating down my cheeks. Why does this hurt so much, but feel warm at the same time?

I pushed myself off of him and shouted: "You don't love me! You just keep throwing the word 'love' at my face, but you don't mean it! Y-you're a liar! You have a fucking side chick or I'm the one!!"

"Oh, my silly Puppy."

I stopped and looked at him. I was expecting to see his crazy smile and eyes and the explanation that I'm just a toy for amusement. Instead, I was greeted by his hazel eyes that radiated pain and a gentle smile.

Before I could say anything, he said: "That was Brigit, my niece."

I whipped my tears. Tears were leaving new marks down my cheeks as he kept looking into my eyes with gentleness waiting for me to understand.

"Is s-she? Or is this another lie that you tell me to keep me at bay?" I hiccupped out.

"Yes, Puppy. She came into town for some business, and she gave me a call to catch up." He said as he looked into my eyes while gently wiping the tears away with the sleeve of his shirt.

Then why were they kissing!?

"I don't believe you!"

He again locked our lips together, slipping his tongue into my mouth and exploring the inside. I kissed him back, resting my hands on his rising chest. Warm tears were still floating down my cheeks. The kiss wasn't rough or needy, but calming and nurturing. I slowly stopped shaking, and he unlocked our lips.

Why am I giving in if I don't believe him!?

"Puppy, I love you. I'll keep saying it until you understand that I love only you. Please, understand," he said as he whipped the tears from my cheeks. I kept looking into his eyes through my tears, hesitating on what to do.
