Part II - Guilty

the next day...

9:02 a.m.

I woke up around twenty-five minutes before my alarm as the clock ticked away. I was no longer anxious or uneasy, my heart was pounding in my ears, as though all my nerves had fallen asleep and hadn't risen yet.

I wrapped the towel around myself before stepping out of the steamy bathroom after a lengthy shower. I saw Lana shuffle in her sleep as her body curled up, hugging the pillow so closely. The absolute calmness of her tranquility as she slept would always leave me in a daze. Before drawing the sheets over her, I step over to the bed and gently kiss her bare shoulder.

I then wander down the hallway to the kitchen to prepare the green juice I drink every morning to keep me energized and refreshed throughout the day.

10:07 a.m.

After steaming my clothes, I put on some light makeup and parted my straight hair down the middle. I slipped up my skirt and adjusted the strap while getting dressed, staring hard at my reflection in the mirror.

"Wow," Lana murmurs softly from the bed, her gaze falling on me.

"Not too summery?" As I continue to adjust the hemline, I inquire.

"No, it looks incredible," she says. "It's funny how clothes always seem to do that on you"

"You're sweet," I remark with a smile as I move over to the bed and take a seat near her on the edge. I move down to peck her lips, "Sorry, did I wake you?"

"No, I really need to pee," she gives a small laugh before pecking my lips once more and getting up to go to the bathroom. "I'm glad I caught you before you left, how do you feel?" she calls out from the bathroom.

"Pretty good actually. I have a good feeling about this now," I reply as I put on my shirt, flipped the collar up in the air, and began buttoning it up.

"Me too," she says after emerging from the bathroom. "Wish I could be there and watch you in your element," she continues laying back down on the bed.

"You've heard my argument a thousand times already," I say with a chuckle.

"I could hear it a thousand more times," She says with a smile.

"That's such a lie," I call her out with a chuckle. "You yawned three times the other night!"

"Cause it was at three in the morning!" Lana says defensively with a laugh. "Not to mention our activities that night," she continues flatly as a smirk forms on her lips.

"Valid," I say rolling my eyes trying to hide my blush. "I left your juice by the nightstand, drink up"

"No thanks. I'll stick with coffee" Lana says.

"Nope, you're drinking this today," I say flatly as I stood in front of the mirror fixing my hair.

"What's in it?" she says as I see her reflection through the mirror grabbing the glass and sniffing it.

"Everything your body loves," I say with a smile. "Drink it baby it's good for you." I continue as I walk towards her.

"I really hate this stuff though," she says with a frown.

"Please?" I pout slightly in attempt to convince her.

Without saying anything Lana brings the glass up to her mouth and downs the the juice in seconds, then looks up at with an impressed expression.

"So?" I say with a smile hoping she ends up liking it.

"This is surprisingly good," she says with a chuckle. "I remember when Chuck was a vegetarian for like two days, this green stuff was all she had and it was terrible! Like really bad," she continues.
