Part II - Mask Off

T-Minus 1 Hour - The Masquerade Ball

Dress Code: Black Tie

I went dress shopping with Jay the other day, and I settled on a sumptuous silky satin white gown with a scoop neckline, lace-up back, and two front slits. To secure that my mask is balanced, I styled my hair in a slick-back middle parted style. I matched it with a dark lace silver metal and rhinestone mask that really made my eyes stand out.

After putting on my makeup and concentrating on my eyes. I went with a deep red lipstick, before I slathered myself with perfume, grabbed my mask, and opted to leave.

9:17 p.m.

my dress fluttered in the rushing wind as I stood in front of the large, dark oak doors that hung beneath the medieval arch that formed up the exquisite, yet dark, entryway.

The door was opened for me and other attendees, and I made my way across the glowing hallway, which has been bestowed with various shades of beige and chandeliers, creating a path to where the captivating music that was being played at the ball, which resembled the 16th century Renaissance masquerade festivities that were particularly popular in Venice, Italy.

I took my time observing the small nuances of the antique art with modern art deco accents, as though as I was a child in a toy store.

"Keep walking ahead until the music gets louder," An unfamiliar voice whispers by my left ear, but disappears into the crowd before they could be identified.

The music became more coherent as I rushed into the ballroom with my heels clicking against the white marble, I went to the place one would never get lost in.

"What can I get you?" As I set my phone on the counter, the bartender inquires.

"Champagne, please," I say politely, and he smiles back before I pull out my phone.

A: come find me

Some may find the fact that everyone is wearing a mask intriguing, but there's nothing unusual about individuals in their natural habitat.

i really need a drink

"Your champagne, ma'am," The barternder says breaking me away from my trance.

"Thank you," I say before turning around to face the mask-wearing guest dancing and taking a gulp of champagne before my phone buzzed.

L: drinking already?

I smile down as I gaze down to my phone.

of course she found me

A: I'm drinking away my sorrows since my date doesn't want to show up

L: how about I amuse you in the meantime?

A: I don't think she'd like that

L: I'm sure she wouldn't mind
L: meet me by the restroom in 2
L: bring the champagne with you

I took another big swig of champagne, hoping that it would get into my head sooner than intended before I went to the nearest restroom. I enter the bright, modern bathroom and go over my crimson lip in the mirror.

As I walked out of the restroom, glancing left and right before turning left, I heard a familiar voice behind me.

"Looking for someone?" A smile grew across my face as I heard her sweet voice from behind me.

I turn around and see her standing there in a black strapless gown with a peaked detail on the bodice and on her neck laid a white gold necklace with pear shaped light yellow diamond.
