Part I/I - Scars
July 12
Still at the hospital, counting the days that I leave. But I had come to the realization that me being here was the best option for everyone.
With a more optimistic attitude toward the whole situation, I grew more patient with the healing process and was trying my best to pull through.

"Are you sure you wanna do this?" Jay asks hesitantly as she held her phone while Chuck was on facetime.
"Get your ass up, grandma," Chuck encourages through the phone, making me roll my eyes.
"Jay, hang up," I say, making her chuckle.
"No, no, I wanna see this when it happens!" Chuck says.
Last week I started experiencing a prickling sensation on my feet. I was able to move my toes, unaware of how something as simple as this could mean there's a chance. A chance that with the right motivation and treatment I could stand tall again.
"Isn't it too soon?" Jay asks worriedly.
"You might hurt yourself," Lila shared the same concern.
this isn't the motivation i was talking about
"You'll hold me, right?" I ask as I look at Lana, and she gives me a supportive nod.
Lana no longer needed to come after hours when we told them what happened that night. Jay's still a little hostile toward Lana, but that's only because she worries.
"Do you smell that?" Lana says as my heart was pounding out of my chest. I look up at her with a puzzled look.
She inhales deeply through her nose and motioned her hands for me to copy her before a smile formed on my face after I realized what she meant. There was no smell.
she just wanted me to breathe
I inhale and exhale before I slowly pull the covers off me, praying that my feet won't fail me.
"Come on," I say as Lana comes closer and grabs my legs before letting them dangle.
My heart was pumping, before Lana kneeled down in front of me. And I felt her cold hands.
i felt it
Tears started to well up in my eyes before her face shifted to concern, "Your hands."
She looks at me confusingly, "They're cold. I can feel them," I say in a low voice and I see a smile form on her lips as her eyes begin to well up.
"Ready?" she asks softly as she held both of my hands in hers, after planting a kiss on my knee.
"Yeah," I breathe as I felt a sharp pain in my neck because I had finally moved it in ages.
"Gently," Lana says as I clutch tightly on her hands, almost touching her bones as I tried pushing myself up.
I wince as my feet touched the ground, finally making contact with the cold marble.
Lana guides me forward, still holding me and not letting me stand tall yet, "I'm gonna let you go now," she says hesitantly.
She loosened her grip on my hands, and I felt my heart rate increase as I moderately put my weight on my feet, and I no longer needed her hands for support.
Lana moved backwards slowly, but still at arm reach. As I took a step forward, I prompted relieved gasp from my friends.
"O-okay, I'm g-gonna fall," I say with a nervous chuckle as I reach for her hands and fall upon them.
