Riley's POV
After our little get together, everyone went down to the beach. We sat around a bonfire, played in the ocean and told stories. It was relaxing. I felt good.
I was sitting in Colton's lap, my head on his chest, my legs dangling over the side of the chair, his arms around my body. After awhile everyone went down into the water but Colton and I stayed by the fire. "Come on." He whispered in my ear and I stood up. I felt the sand tickle between my toes.
Colton stood up and slipped his big, warm hand into my own. He led me across the beach.
I could hear the waves sloshing back and forth, my family laughing in the background. I smiled to myself. This has been one of the greatest things in awhile. First I find out that I get to go on tour with Colton, and then I get to see my family from back home and now, well now I don't even know what we're doing.
"Close your eyes?" I did as I was told and I felt Colton pick me up bridal style. I think we were walking up a hill. He set me back down. "Open your eyes princess." When I opened my eyes I saw the words "I love you." With a heart around it on the sand, along with rose petals spread around it. I turned around to look at Colton. "Oh my god." I whispered.
He was down one knee with a small box in his hand. It held a beautiful diamond in it, along with the words "I love you" engraved in it. "Riley Richards. Four years ago I had made a huge mistake and almost lost you. I thought the best way to get you back was to proposed to you. That was not the case. So I wanted to do this the right way." He paused to really look at my reaction. I had tears in my eyes and my hands covering my mouth.
He slightly smiled. "I love you with all my heart, my whole being, I would do anything for you, no, I will do anything for you because you are my other half. If you need me I will be there for you, I will protect you, I will show you how much you mean to me." He has done that already, by doing all of this. The surprise family gathering, the tour, the apartment, the everything.
"You are my whole world, and honestly, this sounds really cliche and cheesy, but I really don't know what i would do with out you. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I want a life with you. I want to wake up to my wife and children one day jumping on the bed to wake me up. Or just my wife until she is ready to have kids." My mind wandered to Noah, he would have been four this year. My poor baby.
"I want to spend the rest of my life with you. We have been through thick and thin with one another, and it's been a hell of a ride but I'm ready to fully start my life with you. I have been wanting this for god knows how long." He said with a little chuckle. I laughed to and stared at him.
"For so long now, I have been saying I want you to steal my last name. So will you make me the happiest man alive and steal my last name? Marry me?" I nodded and started crying. "Yes Colton." He pulled the fake ring that we got at the ice cream parlor off of my finger and slid on the real one.
He came over to me and hugged my waist, kissing me passionately. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he spun my around. I looked at my fiancé. He put me down and stared at me for a minute. "I fucking love you Riley." I kissed his lips softly again. "I love you."
We ran back down to the fire and Colton screamed. "SHE SAID YES!" Everyone started clapping and cheering. Corrie and Lou ran up to me. "It's about time you guys." Lou said.
"Yeah I have been waiting forever for you guys to get married." Corrie joked and hugged us both. My mom and dad came over and hugged me. "Dad?" I asked and he was teary eyed. "Yeah sweetie." I smiled at him. "Will you walk me down the aisle?" He nodded. "Of course." Colton grabbed my hand and pulled me to his chest. "Lou can be our flower girl, and Corrie can be the little ring bearer." He pecked my lips and hugged me tighter.
