"Galle is a city on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It's known for Galle Fort. The architectural here is deeply inspired by the portuguese and British rule. It also maintains a polished appearance, due to extensive reconstruction work. Such a historical place, right?"

I stopped walking and pointed the sea barrier. "Those walls is made of concrete stone. It was built first in 1588 by the portuguese and it was expanded by the Dutch during the 17th century," I added. "It is also noteworthy that there are no passing vehicles here. We are encircled by car-free streets."

"You know that?" There was amusement in his voice. "I never thought you're into history."

I shook my head and gave him a thrift smile. "I researched before sleeping."

"It's nice here, but your beauty overpowers the beauty of the place," I heard him whisper while looking away.

The corner of my lip rose voluntarily so I twisted around to face him. "I beg your pardon?" I pretend that I didn't heard a thing.

He shook his head and gave me a teasing look. "I said, you might be gorgeous, but you're still a deaf."

At that time, the only thing that was stuck inside my head is to calm down so that I wouldn't punch his face damn hard!

Mama
Oh, kailan na ang lipad mo?

Malapit na ang pasukan, ah?

Sigurado ka na ba na law ang kukunin mo?

Ace
Hindi ako lilipad, Ma.

Opo. Kahit hindi ako pinaglaban, ipaglalaban ko 'yon.

Mama
Hindi ka pinaglaban? Aba'y, deesurb.

Aba'y nagrerebelde ka ba?

Ace
Hindi po, Ma.

Mama
'Wag mo akong subukan, Ace, ha! Lumipad ka!

Ace
Kahit subukan ko, Ma, hindi ko talaga kaya. Kahit pa pilitin niyo ako o ipagtulakan niyo ako, hindi ko talaga kayang lumipad papunta r'yan.

Mama
Nagbayad na kami ng napakamahal mong tuition fee tapos aatras ka? Gusto mo na bang mamatay? Joke.

Lumipad ka. Sa ayaw at sa gusto mo, lilipad ka.

Ace
Hindi po ako lilipad kasi wala akong pakpak kaya sasakay na lang ako sa eroplano. Okay na ba 'yon, Ma?
