"Hi!" It was Aèm. "Good morning, Ace. You're early." I took a glance on my wrist watch and it's just 4:00 in the morning. We decided to go at Los Angeles at 4:30 but we're both early as expected.
"Good morning," I greeted with a dulcet smile on my face. "Did you took your coffee?"
She shook her head and giggled. "I was rushing myself here so I haven't drink one."
I opened my totebag and twisted around to face her. "Here." I handed her a canned coffee I got from a grocery store nearby.
She beamed at me and took the can from my hands. She opened it and began to take a sip. "Thanks!"
As soon as we got ourselves inside the car, she asked me a riddle-like question. "May namagitan ba sa inyo ni Senior Solis noon?"
I shook my head and took few deep breaths to calm myself. "Wala naman. We're just friends."
"Bakit ganoon na lang siya kung umasta?" Lumalim ang gitla sa noo ko. I didn't immediately get what she wanted to convey. "I mean, he acts like you are more than his friend."
"He has a girlfriend, doesn't he? " I asked sarcastically. He grinned, teasing.
"You're just jealous?" I was just shaken by the mischief of her mind. I can't deny that to this day, who he loves still haunts the deepest of my thoughts.
"How about that cutie guy who's visiting you, how did you two meet?" she asked excitedly. I thought for a moment who she was referring to, but I remember she once mentiond that she saw Fauro and I outside the university.
"You won't believe it, I swear.."
"Just say it," she said, her voice provoking.
"On our wildest dreams." Like, I expected, she doesn't believe it and just laugh her ass off.
