With a serious look I only wander through the suddenly filled old town. People were now outside more often after someone lived at home they couldn't trust. This should also be uncomfortable for me, because I seemed to be sure that this was a one-time thing.  After all, both of us were married and who knows if he had children.

I looked around calmly and looked into every shop whose doors were wide open to let in fresh air, as it was so awfully uncomfortably warm today. I also got very hot under the dress, which is why I should be happy to wear something more comfortable at home. A small pond also adorned our garden, which was only an advantage for us most of the time. But the cleaning work was terribly annoying.

The German armies that made their rounds here now also attracted my attention. A voice far too familiar to me, yelled at the crowd in front of him. Lieutenant Ben seemed to be shouting an order before his eyes could meet mine. But I quickly looked down again and ran home quickly.

I frantically opened the front door and let myself fall in with relief. "Florille? I'm home." I shouted loudly, but no one answers. Not even after waiting in silence for two minutes.

I slowly move towards the kitchen and look out the window into the garden. Not a single shady spot was in sight.  Not even at the bench under the apple tree. I sighed.

I went back up to my room, hoping it would be cooler there. I opened the door and sat directly on my bed, but the piano key that was still on my bedside table seemed to mean something to me. I should at least have tried to play, shouldn't I? But I grabbed him and quickly went to Ben's room. However, I bumped myself against the desk when I tried to get close to the piano quickly, and a pile of labeled sheets of paper fell to the floor.  I quickly leaned down and carefully put all the papers back on his desk, but the name Claude was written on one of the papers. As much as I would like to just avert my gaze, I couldn't. If this was a complaint note, as a wife I had the right to read it.

Claude Bernard is accused

But I stop when the door is thrown open. I almost died of a heart attack, no matter who it was who came in so suddenly.  Surprised, Florille looked down at my hands in which I was holding the note. "What's this?" Pointed them to it and I lifted it. "A note, I haven't read it myself yet. What do you always do here so often?" I ask in astonishment. "You're here too and I don't ask why." Gives it snooty. "I want to play the piano." I turn to the black wing. "Alright, I'm going to make dinner now. Be careful not to get caught." She quickly struts out again and I just look behind her in confusion. What was she doing here?

I walked slowly around the table and sat comfortably on the desk chair.

Claude Bernard is accused of cheating on his wife. On the other side of town he owned a house and two children with a wealthy wife.

I swallow hard and quickly put the note down again. I shouldn't have read this. Even if I was just as unfaithful to him, it hurt. My lower lip started to tremble and a hot tear ran down my cheek. Two children, how long he must have had them. But I looked up, now I knew why Florille kept stepping in here so hectically. She knew that Ben had received this note and in no way wanted me to get my hands on it. Has he even read this note? After all, there are so many here. I sobbed one last time before wiping my tears away with the dress and running down the stairs angrily.

"Reyanna, don't trample like that!" It came angry from the kitchen I entered. She turned when nothing came from me, but around. "Child you are crying, what happened?" She put the cookware to one side and came over to me. "You know that very well, you knew it!" I reproached her and couldn't help but suppress another desperate sob. To distract her, I just gave her the slip of paper. She was silent instead of saying anything to defend herself and her son.  Rather, she just smiled awkwardly. Again I rubbed my tears away furiously.

"It was clear again, otherwise you are always so mean and snooty to me, but as soon as it comes to something your son has done, then suddenly you can no longer open your mouth. And you tell me I should be a faithful wife!" I say out loud, but she just looked startled, as if she were suddenly afraid of me.

I shook my head in disbelief and began to cry again in vain.  Now it just didn't leave me alone. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't find out about it until after the children were born." She stammered nervously. "God what's going on? Do I look so scary when I cry ?!" I ask annoyed but she points with her look over me. I turn around quickly and cross my arms.

Ben stands in front of me puffing as if he knew that Florille did something to me, but he was just as involved in the story. "Fuck you!" I stretch out my middle finger and run up the stairs, knitting it.
