Mia's POV:
Mia's House
I woke up and felt refreshed and rejuvenated. I don't know why but it had that certain spring in my step that I only got a select few days a month. Speaking with Lizzie was exactly what I needed to move on. She was the closure I'd been looking for for years, and now I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
I hop out of my bed and go downstairs to fix myself some breakfast. Seeing as I'm in a happy mood I elected to make one of my favourite breakfast of all time. Scrambled eggs on toast with some cold orange juice. Simple, I know but boy does it cure a hangover. While I was preparing my food I noticed that I was all out of eggs, and normally in this situation I would moan and drive to to the nearest supermarket, but I don't want to drive.
I run back upstairs and put on some running gear. I put my hair into a tightly pulled ponytail, I sling on some black biker shorts and a black t-shirt. I grab my running shoes, my phone and my earphones.
I grab my keys and slide a credit card in the back of my phone case and head out to the store. As I close the door, I pull out my phone and select a song off of Spotify. I go for a song that matches my mood, so I play Happy by Pharrell Williams from Despicable Me. I love that movie.
(I'd recommend playing the song got the vibes, but it's your choice)
The sun it out and the weather is a warm 25 degrees, so it's ideal for a morning run. There is no doubt I'm my mind that it'll rise by midday.
Here's a fun fact about me, I actually ran track in school so I am pretty fast and my cardio is probably still good. I soon find out that it's not and by the time I reach the supermarket I'm sweating profusely. I walk into the store which is nice and cool because of the ventilation.
I walk down to the correct isle and search for some eggs. As I'm doing so my stomach rumbles embarrassingly, earning me some dirty looks from other people, making me red in the face.
As I walk down with my earphones in I hear a woman ask me for something on the top row, so being the gentlewoman that I am, and a tall one at that, I grab the beans for her.
"Here you go." I say as I hand her the beans and go back to looking for my eggs.
"Mia?!" I hear the same woman. I take out my right earphones and swivel to look at the woman who seems to know my name.
"Bailey?!" I say surprised. I can't remember the last time I saw her, it's been so long.
"Oh my god I haven't seen you in ages! What a small world, huh?" Bailey practically yells in excitement. Bailey was my roommate in Stanford, she used to study Mathematics.
"Yeah, how have you been? I thought you were going to be an accountant in New York, why are you here?" I ask and she pulls me into a tight hug, either she didn't notice my back is sweaty or she just didn't care.
Bailey and I were quite close, as all roommates where, but we soon became best friends. We went to parties together, we went on runs together, we'd study together. Obviously I didn't take Mathematics at Uni because it's like going through hell, but I was always pretty good at it.
"Yeah, no I'm here visiting my mom, I actually work in Boston but yeah, I love it. So, what about you?! How have you been?" She asks, bombarding. She was never the best with boundaries but she means well. Wouldn't hurt a fly.
