Mia's POV:
I simply stare at the TV, not knowing how to react. My mind races with the thought of me loosing her and it's the most painful thing I've ever felt.
"I have to go, I have to go and be with her." I quickly stammer. I stand up and start gathering my belongings as quickly as possible. Bailey just stands there, staring at the screen in disbelief.
"I'm so sorry but I have to see her." I say and look up at Bailey who seems disappointed, but for the most part seems empathetic. She snaps out of whatever daydream that she was in and starts helping me gather my things.
"No, you don't need to apologise. Your soulmate is in the ICU. I completely understand." She says, quickly flashing me a smile as she hands me clothes to put in my suitcase.
We rush around some more, making sure I have things like my phone and my passport. Once we're sure that I've got everything packed I head for the door.
"Okay, I'll pay for you you to go to the airport and then you'll buy the next ticket to LA. You'll fly out there and then when you land you're going to take a taxi right to the hospital." She says, I stop for a moment before she turns around to see me standing there. "You coming or not?" She asks, I nod and smile in response.
I'd didn't expect her to be so calm and generous about this whole thing. She's essentially helping me be with my ex, who she knew I loved wholeheartedly.
She run out of the hotel and, thankfully there's a taxi right outside the lobby. She quickly tells him to take me to the airport and hands him a one hundred dollar bill. "Tell me how she is when you get there okay?" She says, smiling sadly at me.
"I will. And Bailey... thank you. Not many people would have done what you have." I say genuinely, I couldn't thank her enough.
"Not many people have known you as long as I have. Now go, go get your girl." She yells and taps the back of the taxi. She drive takes of, leaving Bailey behind us, waving goodbye in the middle of the road.
The drive is possibly the most aggravating thing I've ever experienced. Every stop at the slights, every crossing seemed like an eternity. My mind just races with endless negative possibilities. The worst one being that I don't get to see the one person I'll love for eternity, before she passes. She has to pull through, right?
The driver slowly pulls up to the entrance and I quickly grab my suitcase and run into the large marble structure. The sound of my flip flops slapping against the marble floor draws some attention but I couldn't care less right now. I run over to the kiosk and wait in line for about 5 minutes before I come to the front.
"Hi, I'll take the earliest flight to LA please." I say and look up above to see the timing of flights.
"We have one in 10 minutes," she responds before I can find one. "But I'm afraid that the only available tickets are first class."
"I'll take it." I snap, she looks at me with a puzzled look and I simply stand there waiting for her to take the credit card from my hand.
"Your flight is in 10 minutes and boards at gate three." She says and hands me the ticket and my credit card.
It's probably best that I don't know the price until after this whole fiasco is over. I don't need any more information crowding my brain. I'm already overthinking as it is. I run down to the gate frantically, my white beach shirt flailing behind me as I run. I show the man my passport and the belt takes me suitcase to the plane. That 10 minutes felt like an eternity before the woman on the intercom announced that gate 3 was boarding. I walk through the plane, to the first class section. I've never been in first class so it's safe to say that I'm surprised when I walk in to cabins and bars and cute flight attendants offering luxurious snack and fancy cocktails.
