Lizzie's POV
Diary,
July 24 , 2004
Wow diary. It's really been two years. A lot has happened. Most importantly, I have a girlfriend. Yeah, I know, WOW! Her name is Mia. Mia Quinn Langley. I know, a girl! Yeah, it's weird what one adorable Russian/American can do to your sexuality, huh?
She was in my Maths class one day and helped me with a simultaneous equation. We went out a couple of times as friends but after a few months we both realised that we were more than that. We waited for a while until Mia asked me to be her girlfriend.
But the main thing that was different about Mia was that the second I met her, I wasnt attracted to her right away. Or at all for that matter. The love I had for her didn't happen at first sight, manifest overnight. It wasn't one of those 'love at first sight' tropes that are in movies or books, I had to work to get her, we were friends for a while then when we both realised, we tried it. And it worked.
She soon became the most gorgeous girl I've ever laid eyes on. Her mesmerising, innocent brown eyes were like an abyss, they were deep and never ending and I often found myself getting lost in them. She is taller than I am, she has straight brown hair with a silver strip in the parting. She has a beautiful sculpted face and the perfect features, she gets her looks from her mom, who... I probably shouldn't say this... but she's quite hot.
Mia was imperfect, just like all of us. It was those, those subtle things that no one would recognise, those subtle things is what I loved about her. The way she had a small scar above her right eye from when she fell off her bike when she was little. The silver strip in her otherwise bouncy brown hair.
One thing that annoyed me about Mia was that she didn't believe in herself. She was smart, confident and perceptive but she needed constant reassuring and needed to be pushed to believe she could do something she could easily accomplish.
I had flaws too. My problem was that I committed way to soon. I wanted to move at a million miles an hour and waste no time in being with that person and commiting to them. But unlike other boys I've been with Mia told me I was going way to fast, and that if we were going to work I needed to slow down.
"Elizabeth! Mia's here!" I here Ashley call from downstairs, I waste no time in closing my diary and putting it under my bed. I slip on a jumper and go to see my girlfriend.
Mia's POV
Mary-Kate was the one to answer the door when I knocked. The house was beautiful and way bigger than mine because of the many siblings that lived in the house. I spent a lot of time around their house because I was an only child, so when mom was at work I'd go around her house.
"Hey, Ashley." I say as she opens the door and steps back inside to allow me to enter. I know it's Mary-Kate who answered the door but I can't help but play with them.
"Ah ha ha ha, your so funny." She says sarcastically and walks back to the kitchen to finish her sandwich.
"Elizabeth! Mia's here!" Ashley calls up the stairs and looks over the back of the sofa to look out my outfit for this afternoon. "Wow, someone's gone all out on the outfit." She says and looks at my from head to toe.
I just wore some loose blue jeans, an oversized brown jumper with some white trainers. It was nothing special, but Ellie didn't love me because I wore special clothes, or because I was rich. She loved me because I was me.
"Your just jealous of my amazing style." I say with a chuckle and she laughs back at me while she watches her stupid show on the new TV she's got.
"Who's jealous of what?" Elizabeth asks as she steps off the last of the stairs. I can't help but let my jaw drop in awe. She's wearing the same as me but she could be dressed as a banana and she'd still be the world's prettiest woman to me.
"The world is jealous of me, because you are mine." I say and she saunters towards me. Her hair was a dark blonde and fell nice and straight down to her shoulders, a neat parting in the centre of her head. She was adorable.
"They sure are." She says and pulls me into a hug. I'm a little taller than her, so I rest the side of my face on her head and kiss the top of her hair. She nestles her head into the crook of my neck, taking in a deep breath and smelling the fragrance of my jumper.
"You look amazing." I say and she looks up at me through her eyebrows with a huge smile on her face.
"So do you. You also smell of vanilla?" She says and furrows her brow in a questioning emotion.
"Yeah, mom bought a new washing liquid. You like it?" I ask and kiss her forehead again.
"I really do. It's such a 'you' thing." She replies and I can tell she means it as a compliment but I can't help my instinct to mess with her.
"Are you calling me vanilla?" I ask with a over-exaggerated gasp and she pulls her head out of my neck.
"No- I... I meant, it's just..." she says but I cut her off by laughing and she realises I'm joking, she slaps me and and then smiles along at my goofiness.
I pull her into the smallest of kisses on her lips, enough to keep her wanting more but not enough that it breaks out into a tongue wrestling contest.
"Urgh, get a room." Mary-Kate interrupts with a mouthful of sandwich. Me and Ellie smile at the twins comment.
"Maybe we're doing it wrong. Maybe we should be gay, Mary." Ashley says after she pauses her show and turns her body away from the TV to look at all three of us.
"Yeah, maybe." She says and swallows what she's been chewing. Then I remember that my mom bought me a new phone, even though we're not that rich. I guess being an only child has its perks.
"Hey, I got the new Nokia phone today and it's got a camera! We can all take a photo." I say with enthusiasm and, surprisingly, they match the excitement. Mary-Kate walks over from the kitchen and Ashley makes an loud grunting noise as she gets up from the sofa.
We all get into a tight group and prepare for the photo. I Placed myself at the front, seeing as I was the tallest, I just bent my knees so that they could be in the shot. Liz rested her head on mine and the twins went either side of her. I reversed the phone's position in my hand to it was facing away from us. Then I clicked the home button a few times and the camera snapped shut with every tap. After a few we all stood up and looked at the screen and viewed all the photos.
"Wow, Ashley, you look awful." Mary-Kate says and I can smell the comment that she's about to respond with before she even says it.
"I look exactly like you do. We're twins dipshit." She says and we all laugh at the insults.
A/N: Hey, hope this small, first chapter was fun to read.
(If you haven't read the description, your not going to like the next sentence.)
Just going to set up all of the stories and and make you really understand how picture perfect Mia's and Lizzie's relationship was before I rip it all away and skip an insane amount of time.
