"What a disaster!" Kook exclaimed in disgust. "I'm so sorry I didn't factor in that they would show up so soon. Leave it to the D.E.B.S: you're in town for a week and they're all over you, just grabbing and..."

He glanced at Lisa, who hadn't spoken a word since she burst out of the backdoor of the restaurant and dived into the car. She merely looked back at him, leaning her head on her arm propped on the window sill as he drove and ranted.

"What?" he frowned. When a trace of a smile curved her mouth, his curiosity intensified—he hadn't seen his friend genuinely smile in a very long time.

"Really, what?"

"I met somebody," Lisa revealed.

Kook immediately slammed the brakes. Luckily they were driving in an abandoned residential area so the road was empty.

"I knew it!" he said happily, "I mean okay, it was a little weird, the thing about the dance—"

"Wait you knew about that?" Lisa frowned.

"Yeah but I didn't want you to cancel over something so trivial, I knew you and Tzuyu would hit off—"

"No no no, Kook, Tzuyu was a trainwreck, thank you," Lisa shuddered.

"I'm not following. When exactly did you have the time to meet somebody between her and being chased by D.E.B.S?"

Lisa tried to stifle her excitement. "Okay first of all you are gonna have to swear to me that you aren't gonna freak out about it."

"Freak out about what, why would I freak out, I'm the chillest guy in all of L.A."

"Well you know you sometimes —"

"OH MY GOD, who is it?" Kook burst out, unable to take the suspense for any longer.

Lisa smiled. "Okay, what do you know about a Park Chaeyoung?"

He sat back, thinking. "Park Chaeyoung...the girl from the smuggling op, back in Seoul? From a year ago?"

"No that was a Son Chaeyoung."

"Ah you're right, you're right. Hmm..."

Lisa waited for the moment he understood who she was referring to and she wasn't disappointed: his face suddenly turned pale and he looked very very sick.

"Oh my God," he whispered, visibly holding back a shudder. He turned to Lisa, his incredulous expression letting Lisa know she was in very hot water.

"Blonde hair," he said stiffly. Lisa nodded.

"Plaid skirt."

Lisa couldn't help it: she smiled because she herself couldn't quite fathom how the night's events had quickly turned around, from a disaster to a stroke of serendipity when she quite literally collided with the endearing blonde agent.

Of all people to catch her eye...

"She's a D.E.B," Kook said shrilly, "okay and not only is she a D.E.B, she's THE D.E.B., she is the perfect score!"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Lisa scoffed and climbed out of the car, a plan already fermenting in her mind to speak with the blonde again even as Kook followed her out still listing Chaeyoung's attributes.

"Park Chaeyoung is the only person ever to get a perfect score on the secret test in the SAT."

"Give me the keys, Kook."

"Are you listening to me? Perfect score means perfect spy. She is their pride and joy, she is literally their posterchild!"

"Yes well their posterchild doesn't know it yet but she's into me," Lisa informed airily.
