Hotel Supreme, 23:30
The party was lavish and extravagant as they get, with non-alcoholic punch (that still tasted suspiciously of alcohol) flowing freely but the teaching staff supervising the event turned a blind eye if they so happened to see some of the junior male agents surreptitiously pouring metallic flasks into the glass bowls of punch.
People were dancing and laughing and chatting on the dance floor in groups or pairs. White and blue balloons decorated the space. Chaeyoung danced half-heartedly with Chanyeol, himself decked out in a white tuxedo that made him stand out amongst his peers, the alpha with his queen on his arm.
Over on the other side of the room, Jennie gathered Jisoo and Yeri to sound off for the speech she wrote for Chaeyoung to read out.
"Okay so how's this? 'My tour of duty behind enemy lines has taught me to remain vigilant to my core values: bravery, loyalty and justice. And so it is a great honour for me to accept this award, blah blah blah blah blah, what do you think?"
"Is the blah blah part of the speech too?" Jisoo asked, blowing plumes of smoke.
"Very funny Jisoo."
"What if she really loves her?" Yeri said suddenly, catching Jennie off guard. "I mean, what if Lisa makes her happy?"
Jennie stared at her but Yeri wasn't finished from her sudden epiphany. Summoning more courage than she could have possibly known she possessed, Yeri said: "If you were really her best friend, you'd probably let her go."
Jennie didn't even have time to recover from the stunning blow Yeri dealt before Jisoo spoke up too.
"You can't decide matters of the heart," she said solemnly, making Jennie wheel around and shoot her a baffled look. Jisoo flipped her hair off her shoulder with a sigh. "It is madness to try."
Jennie pursed her lips together and didn't comment about either of their statements.
"It's time," she said finally and went to find Chaeyoung.

The plan so far had been going smoothly.
Knocking out the guards had been a doozy, a task Lisa had done hundreds of times and could do almost in her sleep.
However, she had only knocked them out without using any tranquilizers, which meant her window of opportunity was shorter than usual so she had to be quick before the alarm was raised, notifying people of her presence.
Kook had agreed to meet her in the storage facilities. He said talking with Yeri would come later, because the next few parts of the plan were crucial: Lisa had to crawl through vents undetected until she came to the elevator shafts, and she had to do that alone to move quicker.
Lisa prowled through the corridors, shrugging off the jacket, leaving her in a black tank top. Breaking in was hot work, but at last she found the entry of the vents that Kook had shown her would provide the shortest route to the elevator shaft.
She got a chair to clamber up on it, take off the grille covering the vent opening and crawl inside, making sure to place the cover back in position.
Not for the first time, she thanked the stars she was built on the lean side, but to move swiftly she was entirely weaponless. She wished she could have at least kept the crowbar they used to prise open the skylight but the priority was speed and concealment over confrontation.

"Okay so I just wrote down a couple words explaining our version of what happened and expressing your gratitude at being honoured," Jennie said when she managed to retrieve Chaeyoung from the dance floor.
