D.E.B.S Stakeout (Lex Deux Amour), 20:00
Hanging far above the gentle hubbub of the restaurant below them, practically amongst the rafters, the four D.E.B.S agents each occupied themselves while they waited for the target to arrive.
They sat comfortably on their individual motorised swings, which allowed them to hoist themselves up or down or move sideways if needs be to get better views. At their sides they had lengths of cable rope that would allow them a quick descent should they need to enter the scene rapidly if things went awry.
Jisoo had translated the restaurant's name when Chaeyoung asked: The Two Lovers.
"Interesting choice for a rendezvous," Jisoo had commented thoughtfully, cigarette between her fingers.
"What lovers? Is it like a mythology thing? Like the Greeks perhaps? Achilles and Patroculus?" Chaeyoung wondered. She had always been interested in art and frequently sketched and doodled whatever came to mind.
"Who cares? You can go ask the owner after we're done," Jennie jumped in with her usual practical advice. "Let's focus on the mission."
The gigantic tapestry behind them that Chaeyoung tried very hard to ignore when they arrived earlier to set up their stakeout equipment was a titillating indication to her query:
It displayed two distinctly female figures with long flowing locks of hair, standing bare-breasted with their lower bodies hidden amidst intricate architectural designs and floral patterns. Smaller feminine figures with their backs turned also frolicked around them.
Not that Chaeyoung looked for too long, but she had noticed that one of the central women was reaching out to the other, who seemed more reticent of contact, holding her face in despondency as though pondering her actions. But her hand stretched out anyway towards her counterpart, fingers touching almost tenderly.
Chaeyoung quickly pushed away her over-analysing thoughts of the tapestry and continued setting up alongside her friends.
Now they all sat in a row: Jisoo smoking placidly one leg on top of the other; Yeri fiddling with the audio capture device; Jennie reading the latest issue of D.E.B.S— Agent Stardom Guide as though she were at the hair salon while Chaeyoung busied herself sketching out the restaurant scene below them to practice her perspective.
"Hey! Look, look check this out," Jennie said suddenly, turning to show Chaeyoung her magazine. She pointed out a recruitment ad that featured Ms Young pointing at the reader, with the tagline:
I WANT YOU
FOR THE D.E.B.S
FOREIGN SERVICES
The advert continued:
Ms Young wants YOU.
With the rise of rogue states throughout the world, the foreign threat has never been higher.
The terror alert is at an all time high.
