D.E.B.S Academy Main Hall, 09:00

Things did not return to normal in the morning.

They started out normally enough, with the D.E.B.S arriving to school together and then breaking up for their individual classes without getting breakfast first, since classes started earlier on Tuesdays. Chaeyoung had also gone straight to the track for a quick run, since it was cardio day.

She had now showered and changed into her D.E.B.S uniform and was heading to the main Academy building for the next class, hoping she could grab a quick snack from the Eatery on the way but was immediately surrounded the moment she stepped in through the doors.

"Oh my god is it true, did you really fight Lisa Diamond?"

"What was it like?"

"Did you pull her hair?"

"I heard she has teeth like a vampire, did you see?"

"Did you punch her?"

"I heard that you cut off her hand, does she still have her hand?"

"Yes, she still has both of her hands," Chaeyoung said curtly and brushed them off. She pushed past all of the eager girls trying to talk with her and sniff out details, not caring if she sounded rude and abrupt.

"Everyone's talking about it," Yeri remarked as she joined Chaeyoung power walking through the hall to avoid the throng of people whispering and waving at them.

"About what?"

"How you met Lisa Diamond and lived to tell about it."

"What? But how—"

"I think Jennie was the one to run shouting about it down the hall to Mr Teddy's office. You were at the track."

 Chaeyoung groaned. 

Of course Jennie would be gloating about how her best friend and teammate had faced their mortal enemy. She was sure Jennie would have spun some amazing tall tale as well, full of death-defying stunts and breathtaking kung fu moves.

"They're calling you a hero," Yeri said scornfully, "when really, you're a slut."

"Shut up."

"A gay slut."

"I'm not gay!" Chaeyoung snapped.

"Ms Young wants to see you," Yeri finished and sauntered off, leaving a thunderstruck Chaeyoung in her wake.

"What? Yeri!"

The moment Chaeyoung stomped into the meeting room after exchanging a nasty glare with Yeri, she was stumped to find running headlines of herself and Lisa being displayed on the Academy digital bulletin board that was present in every class.

It usually ran daily news titbits about campus occurrences and student announcements. Chaeyoung had been up there with the rest of her squad plenty of times after completing some of their more high profile missions.

But it would be the first time she saw herself named alongside a super villain.

There were her profile photo and Lisa's, sided by side, with the headline DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT—LISA & CHAEYOUNG GET TOGETHER.

Chaeyoung's mouth dropped open but then the headline continued to elaborate: CHAEYOUNG LIVES: Park Chaeyoung survives encounter.

Shaking her head, she approached Jennie and Jisoo who were conversing excitedly between themselves.
