After Dumbledores disappearance, everything went downhill.
The ministry wasted no time in appointing Umbridge the position of headmaster. And she intern wasted no time in making "fit adjustments to the severely failing criteria."
First step on her agenda was getting rid of Hagrid. He was forcefully removed from his home and taken. Nobody knew where, but as Ron rightly said "we'll I bloody doubt he's been sent on a picnic."
The next step in Umbridges grand plan, was to limit the use of magic. She insisted that all students and teachers must inform her before preforming any type of magic. So of course most people just avoided using magic at all, so as not to speak to her. She had the Ministry alert her every time a wand inside Hogwarts preformed a spell, so there was really no way around the rule.
And her punishments were not to be sniffed at. First years were now being made to withstand the same grueling detentions that Harry and Y/n were forced to endure. Umbridge had also smacked several students, and threats to poorer or mixed blood families were almost a daily occurance. The most frightening part of it all, was that she had the power to follow through with her threats. Fudge didn't seem to care what she did, aslong as no one was talking about Voldermort he was happy. It seemed almost comical that a short plump lady dressed entirely in pink, was now more of a concern to the students than the darkest Wizard who ever lived.

Colin Creevey was hunched up on a bench by himself, sniveling and holding his hand up to his chest tightly.
Noticing the young boy, Y/n quietly made her way over to him and sat herself on the bench next to him.
The halls were bleak and lifeless, the only source of light being emitted from the few lanterns screwed securely to the walls. Colin flinched at the sudden presence next to him. He looked up to see who it was and his bloodshot eyes warmed to see that it was only Y/n.
"May I see your hand Colin?" Y/n whispered.
He held it out shakily, and sure enough the words I mustn't support violent ideals or groups was carved deeply in to his skin. Y/n winced just thinking of how much that must have hurt him.
"Come with me." She nodded. Checking up and down the corridor before leading him back to the common room.
Once back into the familiar room they both let out a sigh of relief.
"Hey Colin." Ron half smiled.
"H-hello." Colin grinned through a few tears.
George walked over and kissed Y/n on the head "hello mate." He addressed Colin "she didn't get you too did she?"
Colin nodded and held out his hand.
"Blimey thats a whole paragraph." George nearly chocked "don't worry though, the pain goes down after a while" George smiled and then gave a knowing look to Y/n.
Y/n brought Colin over to the sofas where her friends were gathered.
"I can urm..make it better if you'd like?" She offered, pointing to his swollen hand.
"How?" He whispered "ohh are you going to use your super powers?"
"Its not a superpower." She giggled.
"It is." Laughed George.
"Shut up George. It isn't a super power. Its just magic...that the Ministry can't track... because it doesn't come from a wand. I've helped both Fred and George with their hands, and it didnt hurt one bit, did it boys?"
The twins showed Colin there hands. There was subtle scarring but the redness and bleeding had completely gone.
"Oh I wasn't worried it would hurt. I just don't want you to get detention for helping me."
