The lost soldier (re-write)

An eventful meeting

Team RWBY has been dispatched to investigate a recent White Fang outpost that has sprung up in Vale. Yang is remembering something that she read a while ago.

Ruby: This forest is really neat.

Blake: It is nice to get out of school for a while.

Weiss: But do you really think that it is a good idea to send first years to investigate a dangerous area?

Yang: We should be fine.

Ruby: Weren't you reading something about this forest Yang?

Yang: Yeah it was an internet story about how there is a mysterious soldier who vanquishes the evil in this forest.

Ruby: Could that explain why we haven't seen any Grimm?

Yang: Maybe, the story also says that he was fighting in the Great War and he hasn't put down his arms yet.

Weiss: That is impossible, he would have to be over a thousand years old if he served in the Great War.

Yang: It also says that he possesses a near godlike amount of power.

Ruby: Shush, the outpost is just up ahead.

They go and investigate the outpost and they witness an odd site. All of the white fang soldiers had been killed and shell casings littered the ground.
Weiss turns over one of the corpses and sees that the front helmet he was wearing was crushed by what appeared to be a mace.
Blake had a horrible shock when she entered the dugout, a mutated body of a white fang soldier decorated the sides of the dugout and he appeared to have been killed by a hand grenade.
Ruby finds a fairly mundane one, the body appeared to have been strafed with a machine gun. Yang found a pillbox containing the burnt remains of two white fang soldiers.

Yang: What could have done something so horrible?

Ruby: I don't know.

Weiss: The bodies were all brutally beaten.

Blake: Whatever did it I suggest we don't stick around to find out.

At that moment a column of ten white fang soldiers comes marching down the road and team RWBY duck for cover preparing for a fight.

Ruby: Alright, remember your training.

Blake: What training?

At that moment a grenade breaks the quiet. A machine gun then fires into the soldiers incapacitating most of them.

Yang: What the hell is going on?

When all of the white fang soldiers are either dead or dying a mysterious figure emerges from the woods. He is carrying a club and a pistol, he walks upon the first injured soldier and delivered a mighty stomp to his head killing him. He then moves to the second and swiftly smashed in his head with his club. He then proceeded to fire six shots into another and then he saw one crawling away. He walks over to the poor Faunus.

Mysterious figure: I was ordered to guard this forest and prevent hostiles from getting at our supply lines. And unfortunately, for you at least, you have stumbled into this forest, but don't worry, you won't be leaving.

The mysterious figure readies his pistol but he hears something behind him.

Yang: Don't do it. He is at your feet, you don't have to kill him!

The figure slowly turns around and Yang is terrified by the cold eyes behind the gas mask.
The figure puts his gun back in his holster and the turns towards the white fang soldier and kicks him in the side of the head.
