I was having breakfast in the kitchen when my phone began to ring; I reached across the table to pick it up, caller ID Ashley.
‘Hey,’ I said when I picked up the phone, quickly gulping down a mouthful of crunchy nut.
‘Hey, how are you?’ She replied.
I thought for a moment, ‘okay, you?’
‘I was worried about you,’ she answered, ‘I should have went home with you last night, made sure everything went okay.’
‘Everything went fine,’ I sighed, ‘there’s no need to worry, Darren’s just a bit jealous, he was convinced there was something going on between Harry and me.’
Ashley gave a laugh, ‘why would he think that?’
I laughed in return, ‘I’m kind of a big fan.’ I admitted.
Ashley laughed, unable to stop now.
‘So everything’s okay now?’ She asked, hiccupping her self back to seriousness.
I examined the small finger shaped bruises on both my wrists, long sleeves for a while, I thought to myself.
‘Yeah, we sorted it out, he apologised for being so jealous and not trusting me.’
‘Well that’s good,’ she agreed, ‘so have you been on twitter or anything today?’ She asked me, I told her no, ‘oh, well they’re over Harry and you, but they’ve kinda moved round to Harry and me.’
‘Oh,’ I said, I hadn’t thought about that end of the pictures.
‘Don’t worry about it though, it always dies down, in the end,’ she said, and I agreed mentally.
‘If I’m honest, I encouraged Harry to do last night,’ she told me, ‘he was convinced that I couldn’t handle hate, so he didn’t say anything, and when the whole ‘Starbucks Scandal’ came out, I was like, Harry you have to do something about it, and eventually he agreed.’ Ashley divulged.
‘I can see why he wouldn’t want to say anything,’ I told her.
‘Oh, Harry wants to talk to you,’ she said.
‘Oh,’ I replied, but the speaker had already switched.
‘January?’ He said.
‘Yeah?’ I said my voice slightly colder.
‘I wanted to apologise for our argument last night,’ he said.
‘Yeah me too.’
‘I was out of line.’ He continued.
‘Yeah me too.’
‘I still want to be friends,’ he resolved.
‘Yeah me too.’
‘I don’t think you have a very wide vocabulary,’ he observed.
‘Yeah me too.’
We both laughed, Darren came into the room, he looked tired, I had felt him tossing and turning last night, before he eventually got up and came back a little while later.
‘Morning,’ I said stretching down the sleeves of my pyjamas, but it was too late, he winched at the sight of my bruised wrists.
‘Who are you on the phone too?’ He asked, trying to sound casual, but his eyes looked pain.
‘Harry and Ash,’ I said tersely.
He looked only mildly interested, ‘can I talk to them?’ he asked his hand outstretched.
