“Try me,”

I looked at Niall, I could trust him right? It’s not like Darren still gave a shit anymore.

“Do you really want to know?” I asked Niall, using my knuckles to knaw my jaw, Niall was right that was a big stubble.

He nodded, my phone buzzed suddenly.

“Unknown Number” had sent me a message:

 Think again Styles, unless you

want to get him involved to.

I’m still watching.

Darren

Holy fuck he was still here, he was smart, he wanted to make sure that January and me never got back together. I had promised to tell Niall now, what was I going to say.

“I’m, I’m still in love with Ashley,” I invented wildly, Niall gave a harsh laugh.

“Well that’s just utter crap Harry.” Niall told me, god damn it, why could people I knew see through me so easily.

“Maybe I just changed my mind then,” I said, doing my best to sound bitter, the last thing I wanted was for Niall to get involved in all this shit.

Niall looked at me for a second before shaking his head, “I thought you were better than this Harry,” he murmured, “do you want to run through this song or not?”

“Did Simon call you today?” I asked him suddenly. Niall looked up.

“Yeah, he did.” Niall ran a hand through his hair, “I didn’t have the heart to tell January.” I shook my head.

“Don’t, there may still be a chance.” I said and Niall nodded.

“You ready to go through this?” Niall asked, I nodded.

"January I know you don't wanna sing this song, but c'mon make an attempt!" the vocalist chastised, "Simon wants to show the public you're back"

“But that’s not the reason why Simon’s making me do it,” I sighed.

“Well, why don’t you talk to him?”

“I haven’t seen him all week, have you?” she shook her head, she checked her watch.

“Harry’s coming here to practice the new song, you wanna stick around?” she asked me but I knew she already knew the answer.

“I’m going to go.”

“January this’ll help you,” she told me, but I shook my head.

“You have my recording he can work with that,” I told her picking up my bag and heading for the door, “I have dance classes now anyway. Thanks for your help.” She gave me a weak smile and I walked out the door pulling out my phone, I bumped into someone.

“Shit sorry,” I said looking up to see those piercing green eyes staring at me, I pushed past him, “You know what take that back.” I grumbled walking past him.

“I read the song.” He said, I turned round to face him.

“Wow congratulations, you can read!” I said sarcastically rolling my eyes at him.

“It’s good.”

“I’m not looking for your approval,” I told him bitterly.

“Just, just rehearse it with me,” he pleaded, I shook my head.
