I looked at him, was he serious, all he wanted to know was where her apartment was? Surely he could find that out by himself, a bribe here and there and he could probably rent out her room and make it his own bachelor pad. And here he was offering my freedom for information he could already have within a day.
“Why?” I said picked eventually from all the questions trickling through my brain. He raised an eyebrow at me.
“Isn’t it obvious?” he said, making an open palm gesture at me, I bit my lip before shaking my head, “well I already told you my ‘grand plan’” he put air quotes around the last phrase.
I gulped, “so if I tell you where January’s apartment is, you’ll let me go, but you’ll kill her?” he nodded.
“To put it bluntly yes,” he paused, “I prefer the idea of retribution,” he said calmly.
“For what?” I said shuddering, “you’re the criminal here.”
“Harry made the first move, he started this game, and it’s his problem if he can’t finish it.” He said, his anger clearly rising.
“Can you not find out the apartment for yourself?” I pleaded, wringing my hands together.
He gave a harsh laugh, “Harry and her think I’m out of the country, they think you’ve jetted off on holiday, having people snoop round London will only increase security again, it’s already gone down.” He gave a sinister smile at his own plan.
I shook my head confused, “why does Harry and January think you’re gone?” I asked eventually.
“He’s not too smart your ex-husband is he?” he smirked and I winced at the reference, “get a woman on the line claiming to be a PC and he’ll believe you like that,” he snapped his fingers to show an instant, “we had documents and all ready to go, but he didn’t even give a damn.”
“And, and me?” I asked, he laughed again.
“Texted them saying Daniel was taking you for a romantic break, that way when we tell January what’s going on Harry won’t be able to stop her like last time.” He finished off, he stood waiting for my reaction.
“You’re sick,” I spat at him, he gave a laugh and leaned on the doorframe and waggled a finger at me.
“But you’re forgetting,” he said teasingly, “you haven’t said no yet.”

“Where are you going?” Harry moaned rolling over to the edge of the bed, where I had perched to pull on my brogues, of course he had only noticed I wasn’t in bed when I was just about to leave.
“I’m meeting up with some appointment Simon set up for me,” I explained, just a few clubs and things, places that would take me easily. Harry sat up his hair sticking out all over that place.
“Do you want me to come?” he asked me, stretching his arms above his head and making a sound like a baby dinosaur. I shook my head.
“No offence Harry, but I don’t want them thinking I’m playing the famous boyfriend card,” I said tersely, to my surprise Harry nodded understandingly.
“Do you still want me to help you move later on?” He asked me, I groaned at the thought of the stacks of boxes I had to move, Harry gave a laugh. “You’re so lazy,” he informed me.
“Says the guy whose still in bed,” I pointed out, giving him a quick peck on the cheek, before walking out the door.

“What?” she said, her eyes wide in confusion.
“You know what,” I said snarky, “it’s a tempting idea so don’t make out like I am some sort of monster for suggesting it. I’m giving you a way out. I’ll find her in the end, you telling me now will just save us both a lot of time, effort and heartache.”
