I looked around the room frantically before turning to Eleanor and whispering in her ear:

“Have you seen Harry,” I asked her out of the side of my mouth. She looked up and glanced round the room before shaking her head.

“Not since he said hey at the start,” she replied, appearing unconcerned, before continuing her conversation with Danielle and Liam.

“Have either of you?” I interrupted, Danielle shook her head, Liam bit his lip anxiously. I closed the gap between us grabbing his arm. I him away from the two girls, I gave Danielle and apologetic smile, she looked concerned.

“What?” I hissed at him, Liam crossed his arms and didn’t meet my eye.

“Look man it was probably nothing.” He said, looking at his feet.

“Tell me,” I demanded, glancing round us to make sure no one was looking.

“Okay, him and Jamie were in the bathroom at the same time, Harry came out but Jamie didn’t,” he began, oh this was fantastic, “one of the guards went in there a bit later an then he went out and over to January, she went into the bathroom and came out with Jamie, who looked loaded by the way. She seemed to be taking him home and Harry followed them out.” He shifted on the spot.

“Harry. Followed. Them. Out.” I said, my jaw clenched. He nodded, I went to walk away but Liam touched my arm.

“Look, you can trust him okay.” He said his voice layered with anxiety.

“That’s the one thing I can’t do.” I said, walking away out of the party.

“What do you mean you don’t know where she is?” I heard Darren scream angrily in the next room. I shivered and pulled myself further into the corner of the room, tears still running down my face. I had worked out several things so far.

One: The walls were thin as hell in this place, not thin enough to hit through the wall and make a great escape but enough that I could hear everything they said.

Two: I was literally nothing in this game, well maybe a pawn at the most, he wanted January or Harry and from what I’d gathered, wanted to kill January in front of Harry, or kill them both or something. Either way he was on a mission for blood and he didn’t care if he spilt any of mine in the process.

Three: He was on the hunt for January

“Go get the girl!” I heard Darren sneer. Shit, I thought, wiping the tear tracks off my face just as the key began to rattle in the lock. A big guy came in, I hadn’t seen this guy yet but from the amount of foot falls I had heard in the house so far Darren had a lot of guys on his payroll.

He had fierce eyes that glinted in the dim lighting of the room, he crossed the room in one stride and pulled me up by my arm, I don’t think he even noticed my weak resistance. “C’mon,” he grunted, dragging me from the room and pulling me into the ‘kitchen’.

It was a small room with black and red chipped tiles on the floor which was littered with rubbish. There was a small wooden table in the middle around which several men including Daniel sat it, who tipped me a wink before giving an arrogant snigger and taking a swig from one of the beer bottles that littered the table.

“So her and the other guy, Jamie,” Darren murmured, he stopped his back to me, I saw his neck move slightly indicating that he was nodding. “Where’s he? Okay.” He muttered. “Update me when you have something okay?”

What was going on? Darren had lost it. That was an understatement, what happened to the guy who was January’s boyfriend, he had seemed so nice but now, something had snapped. He was wrong.
