Tom
In a way, I was kind of glad Vanlanthirel didn't come in my chambers that night. I was not in the mood to see her. She could have at least kissed me back and then afterward explain that she didn't like me in that way.
No, that's just stupid. It's best that she didn't kiss me back. That way she didn't get my hopes up from the start.
As glad I was that she wasn't here, I hated the fact that I felt like I missed her. It was just upsetting, and confusing. Why would I still miss her if she did that to me? Embarrassing me like I was just a peasant to her. Someone that she could mess with and it would be okay, because she is the princess, and she can do what she wants to in her kingdom.
But no. I was better than that stupid muggle. I was better than any of these stupid muggles. Compared to me, they were nothing! And I would show her, and every single one of them. I'm a Lord. I'm a very powerful wizard. I am better than every single person in my world, and this one.

"Excuse me." I said to the same young lady that I believed was working in the library. "Do you have it?"
She turned around to face me when she heard me speak. She had a blue book in her hands and it was easy to tell that there must have been hundreds of pages. Her face was turning pink and she was clutching the book tight to her chest.
"Sir, please. This book isn't supposed to be seen by anybody but the king. I-i could get in trouble-"
"Hush. I plan to simply look through it and return it to you when I'm done." After a long night of just lying in bed and not being able to get any sleep, I was not in the mood to deal with this girl.
She looked down at the book and back up at me, as if trying to decide if she really wanted to give it to me.
"Well, alright. But please bring it back as soon as possible. I really don't want to get in trouble."
"Hush and give me the book already. The faster I get it then the faster I can bring it back."
I was already irritated at her when she didn't automatically give it to me when I walked in. She held it out for me and I snatched it from her.
As I walked out the door I heard her say, "I wouldn't let anyone see you with that. The consequences-"
But she was cut off when the door closed. I didn't care what she had to say, but I knew she was right. I couldn't let anyone see me with it, not before I had the chance to look through it first.
-------------------------------------------------
Finally, I had it. And as long as I've been sitting here, I still haven't opened it. In a way I didn't want to open it. Why was I still worried about who she was destined to be with? Why was it still bothering me?
There was only one way to figure it out. I flipped open the cover of the book to two white pages with nothing written on them. After I flipped through some of the pages I quickly realized that it was not all categorized. The royals were not separated from the peasants, and none of it was in alphabetical order. My best bet was that the names were all put in when the people were born.
So, it seemed like I've got a lot of work to do.
