Tom

"It's only been a week, my Lord. Why are we going back now?"

"To kill them."

"But, why?"

I looked up at Stephon with a hard face. "Maybe because they tried to trick me into believing I was the Princess's soul mate. Maybe because they are probably sitting there, laughing at all of us right now about how close they were, and how easy it had been. And maybe because one of you stupid fools are obviously working with them. And now that I am not, they know what we are up to. And we don't want something like that to get out, would we, you idiot?"

He cleared his throat before saying, "N-no, my Lord. But, do you really think one of us is working with them?"

"How else had they known what we were up to?! I surly did not tell or ask them for help! Now go tell the others, I'm ready to go." Just before he walked out of the door I said, "Oh, and you better hope it isn't you, Stephon. It would be a real shame for all the others to watch you die. But then, I'd make a good example out of you." He did not turn, and he did not say anything. But he did hear the smile in my voice.

Chaos.

It was everywhere he looked. All he could see. He felt as if he could hear every scream, taste the fear.

It tasted delicious.

Before his eyes, a fire blazed up. It was huge, and consuming someone's cottage. Standing there, he watched as more and more homes went up in flames. It was dark out, and he admired how the fire was a bright contrast to the night sky. He turned and saw the lake, the moon reflecting it's light off of it. Which was now shared with the yellow and orange of the fire. He saw the castle and slowly made his way to it. He knew the king was there, along with the princess and the woman who had seemingly been working in the book room.

He left clear instructions that they were his.

He made his way into the castle and dinning hall, walking slowly as if to soak in the moment.

"Oh, there he is! The Dark Lord!" King Mathaniel said loudly with a smile on his face.

Tom stopped where he was. "Are you mocking me?"

They were all on their knees with three of Tom's men behind them. Their arms were tied behind their backs.

"And to think he almost fell for it!" The woman whom had been in the book room said and laughed. "You should have seen the look on his face!"

"Look at his face now!" The king said. And with that they both almost fell over laughing.

His eyes fell upon Vanlanthirel. She wasn't laughing, and seemed to be not realizing what was going on. She was just smiling at him. She seemed calm.

"Look at him now! He can't stop drooling over her!"

"That's it! I am going to have so much fun killing all of you!"

With that he pointed his wand, and the only thing he could see was a dark green light coming from the other end of his wand aimed straight at the three people he was murdering.
