Tom’s POV
That whole next day I couldn’t get that kiss out of my mind, no matter how hard I tried. It was just a simple kiss on the cheek, but it was my first. My first kiss, ever. I’ve never really thought about kisses before. But now I couldn’t let that one go.
Girls had never been important to me before. Until now.
And I hated it.
I couldn’t concentrate on the important things at hand. All I could think about was that stupid girl and her stupid kiss. Every time she was gone, I wondered where she was at.
Was she thinking about me? Of course not you fool! She’s probably bedding someone else right now.
And as soon as I thought that, my blood boiled.
She better not be! She was mine!
Ugh, what was I thinking?
I needed to concentrate on the plans me and King Malthenniel were making. I’d be staying here for the summer. Hogwarts was out, so this would be simple enough. I highly doubted my orphanage would report me missing. They all feared me. And that was good. As soon as I found out I was a wizard, and they were muggles, I instantly found ways to stay away from them.
They were disgusting. They were stupid and useless. And I would have great pleasure killing every last one of them.
I was currently sitting in the great hall of the castle with King Malthenniel at the head, me on his right, along with all my men, and his to the left.
The conversation started to get quite boring and pointless so I excused myself and stepped out. When I made it out of the castle doors, I took a deep breath. The one thing I really liked about this place was that the muggles weren’t as stupid to pollute the air with chemicals and smoke. The air was clean, just like I liked it.
As I looked around and started descending the stairs, I heard it. A beautiful, soft humming noise. I couldn’t stop my feet when they started to follow the noise, and I kind of didn’t want to stop. The noise got louder as I got closer.
I kind of knew who it was, but I was still curious.
Then I saw her. Sitting down in the garden, looking and touching all of the flowers that were in front of her. I stopped and watched her. She had a smile on her lips: the same lips that kissed me this morning. As I thought about it, the tingles came back on my cheek again. She looked up at me where I was standing a few feet away. She gave me a huge smile and said excitedly, “Hi, Tom!”
I couldn’t help the smirk that came to my lips. Vanlanthiriel always seemed to have that effect on me.
I slowly walked closer to her, my hands place behind my back.
When I got just in front of her I said,” Well, hello there.”
“What are you doing?” She asked, her smile not fading once.
I shrugged and said, “Just came for some fresh air.”
She giggled. I’m not sure why, but she did.
“May I join you?” I asked and made I move to sit down.
“Actually,” she said quickly, making me straighten up. “I was just about to go down to the lake.”
She stood up and added, “But you can come with me there if you’d like.”
“Of course.” I said, smiling.
She giggled and grabbed my hand, leading the way to the lake.
The whole time I tried to not think about her hand in mine and the tingles it sent through my whole body.
