The Curse

Chapter 12

Some things were better left unsaid.

Napabangon ako dahil hating gabi na at wala pa si Ashvin. Pagkauwi namin dito ay nagpaalam sya sa akin na aalis lang sya saglit. Pero ilang oras na ang nakalipas ay hindi pa din sya nakakabalik.

I'm also starting to worry. I can't locate him too.

Bumangon ako dahil hindi ako makatulog. I wore my robe before going out. Tahimik na sa buong bahay dahil tulog na silang lahat. We're all tired but I can't sleep because of worry.

Dumiretso ako sa kitchen para sana uminom ng gatas nang makita kong may pumasok.

I saw Westin silently walked inside. Hindi nya pa ako nakikita dahil sa dilim. He stopped in the middle of the room before looking around.

"Who's there?" He asked. I scanned him—ganon pa din ang suot nya sa suot nya kanina. He's not sweaty or whatever. He looked normal. I sighed before going out of the dark.

"Have you seem Ashvin?" I asked casually. Napalingon naman sya sa akin at parang nakahinga ng maluwag.

"Come with me," he suddenly said and walked closer to me. Kumunot naman ang noo ko dahil sa inakto nya.

"And why is that?" I asked with brows furrowed.

He took a deep breath before answering my question.

"I found something." He said seriously that made me froze.

H-he found something?

"What is it?" I asked, getting impatient. Pero hindi ko pinahalata na kinakabahan ako.

"Promise me that you won't say a word. We'll just take a peek." He said slowly. Tumango naman ako kaagad bago huminga ng malalim at sumunod sa kanya.

"Do you know why I'm here?" He suddenly asked while we're walking. Hindi ako lumilingon sa kanya at tahimik lang kaya tinuloy nya ang sinasabi.

"Eleena and Marius." He got my attention when he said their names. Napalingon na ako sa kanya.

"What about them?" I asked curiously.

"I promised to their parents that I'll give them their happiness. And I found out that their happiness is their mates." He said and I saw him smiled while looking at the road.

"I don't know what's my purpose in life." He added.

"Until I met you," I looked away because of his words that made him chuckled.

"Now I know what's my purpose in life," he said proudly that made me sighed.

"I'm not your responsibility, Westin." I said that made him chuckled.

"I swear, you'll need me sooner." He said. I shooked my head because he's right.

"But please, don't ask me to break your bond again because I won't." Nakita ko syang umirap na nagpangisi sa akin.

"I'd rather die." I replied. I saw him hold his chest and acted in pain.

"Pakiramdam ko ay dinurog ang puso ko," he said that made me chuckle silently.

"At isa pa," he said and stopped walking. Napahinto din tuloy ako at kunot noong tumingin sa kanya.

"Kung iiyak ka please lang, wag lang magpapakita sa akin." Iniharang nya ang dalawang kamay sa pagitan namin at umiling pa. I almost rolled my eyes that made him laughed.

"Kidding! Kukuha pa ako ng balde para sayo," he winked at me but I didn't even have him an expression. Napanguso sya at nagtuloy na kami sa paglalakad.

"We're here, keep quiet." He said and walk slowly. Napalingon ako sa paligid dahil malapit kami sa lawa.

Tumahimik lang din ako ngunit bago pa kami magtuloy sa paglalakad ay tinawag nya ang pangalan ko.

"What?" I asked coldly.

"I may not have you, but you have me." He seriously said that made me nodded.

"Thank you," I whispered that he replied with a smile.

Kahit nagtataka ay sumunod nalang din ako sa kanya. I have a guess of what will happen. But...

The moment we saw what he's talking about—Wala akong nagawa kung hindi manahimik. Dahil hindi ko din alam ang sasabihin ko o ang magiging reaksyon ko.

Naiintindihan ko na kung bakit nasabi yon ni Westin. Naiintindihan ko na kung bakit nasabi iyon ni Cerrannos, nang babae sa Village of Scale, nang Hari ng Nevadal at ng Reyna ng Tacenda.

Their words aren't the same but I understand where are they going. They have different opinions and beliefs. I...understand.

I gasped with the sight.

Why is he talking to her?

"Remember what I said, Sapphire." Westin said the moment we went back. Hindi ako sumagot at dire diretso lang papunta sa kwarto. I locked it before letting my emotions out.

I'm so confused. I'm so confused as fuck.

I was about to call Ashvin using our connection when my Father suddenly called me.

Tahimik lang ako at hinihintay syang magsalita.

"Can you come here? I need to talk to you about some things." He said seriously. Hindi ako makasagot dahil hindi pa dumadating si Ashvin.

"I can't—."

"This is an important matter, Sapphire Linnaea." He cutted me that made me sighed. I know my Father, if he's serious—you can't do anything about the matter.

"Okay," I replied before cutting our connection. Naghintay pa ako ng ilang minuto pero hindi pa din bumabalik si Ashvin kaya nagbihis nalang ako para pumunta kay Ama.

Naglalakad na ako papunta sa pinto nang makita kong pumasok si Ashvin. I can feel my face lightened up at the sight of him.

"Ash—." He just walked passed by me without even glancing. Napakurap ako at hindi makapaniwala. Am I a ghost now?

"Ashvin." I called him again but he didn't turn his back. Para syang walang naririnig kaya sinundan ko sya.

He went to our room so I followed him.

"Ashvin!" I keep on calling his name but it looks like he can't hear me.

Oras na makapasok kaming dalawa ay hinawakan ko sya sa braso at pilit syang pinaharap sa akin.

"What the fuck, Ashvin?" I asked seriously. Nakita ko syang pumikit at tinanggal ang pagkakahawak ko sa braso nya. He looked at me coldly.

"Just leave if you'll leave, Sapphire."
