Chapter 16

"What did you talked about?" I asked them first thing in the morning.

Tulad ng sinabi ni Ashvin, we locked ourselves on the room for the whole day. He didn't let me get out from the bed without him clinging onto me. But now is different.

Nakaupo kaming lahat sa mga couch na nakapaikot. Hindi ko katabi si Ashvin dahil nakasandal sya sa pader na malayo sa akin.

I saw Thanara and Eira rolled their eyes. Belle and Venice looked at me with worried eyes, ang mga lalaki naman ay walang reaksyon at tahimik. They look suspicious.

"I'm asking." Malamig na sabi ko. Wala pa ding sumasagot sa kanila kaya napabuntong hininga ako.

They looked like in a bad mood.

"Should I read your minds then?" I asked. Napailing sila at kanya kanyang iwas ng tingin.

"Nothing important. Umayaw lang naman ang lalaking yan," Eira pointed at Ashvin.

"Why?" I asked shortly. I felt them stiffened.

Nanlaki ang mga mata nila at parang May na realized. They all looked at me with horror.

"Your expressions are scary." I commented blankly. I saw the boys gulped. Nakita ko pang nagtago sa likod ni Eira si Cloud.

"W-why are we upset? His decision is r-right." Marius said. Umiwas sya ng tingin ng magtagpo ang mga mata namin.

"I don't understand a thing," I said.

Lumipas pa ang ang ilang sandali at walang sumasagot. They're getting annoying.

"Fine, I'll know it myself." Sabi ko at tumayo. Walang nagtangkang pumigil sa akin. Kahit si Ashvin.

I went to the house of the bad blood. Since I already know her location, it's easy for me to find her. Naabutan ko syang nagwawalis sa labas ng bahay nya.

I'm not saying a thing, nanlaki ang mga mata nya nang makita akong nakatayo sa tapat ng pinto nya.

"I-ikaw na naman?" She said, trying her best to not stutter.

"What happened yesterday?" I asked seriously. Umiling naman sya kaya napamura ako. I went back to our place and found them arguing.

Wala na akong pake.

I saw them went silent and stood up because of shock.

"Sapphire!" Freya said but I didn't look at her.

Lumingon ako kay Zandria at tinaas ang kamay ko. Her eyes widened when a transparent wall made of water blocked her view.

They angrily called my name when they felt their body moving on it's own. Kahit ayaw nila ay napunta sila sa kabilang parte ng kwarto. I saw how Zandria's eyes watered because of what I'm doing.

"S-sapphire..." she called but I used the veins to put them all in place. Even Ashvin who's now silent and just going with the flow.

Nakatali na sila ngayon ng sama sama gamit ang malalaking ugat ng puno at halaman. While Zandria's just standing straightly with eyes begging.

"I'm sorry," she mouthed that made me annoyed more.

The feeling of being kept by the truth makes me mad.

"Is it that hard to tell a word?" Tanong ko sa kanila. I heard my voice echoed in the whole place.

"I'm asking you a simple question. What happened while I was away?" Paguulit ko.

I took a deep breath to get some patience. I stared at Zandria who's now silent and stopping herself from crying. 

I didn't picked her because she's the most fragile or weak. I picked her because she's the youngest and the most vulnerable. She won't be able to handle the pain I'll give to them the moment I found out what happened.
