The Curse

Chapter 22

"Maybe...maybe he doesn't mean it." Freya tried to console me but I'm not listening. Nakatingin lang ako sa kung saan.

"Y-yeah. I think so too." Belle almost whispered.

"Stop sugar coating it. The words came directly from his mouth." Eira commented.

"Oo nga. Pero..."

"Walang pero pero." Thanara said.

We're now here in my room. Ako lang naman dapat. But these girls came with me. I don't need their comfort anyways.

"Kakausapin ko si Uno—." They cutted Eleena just by looking at her. Napatingin din ako kaya tumaas ang kilay nya.

"I'll kill him." She added.

"Can you go out for now? I want to be alone." I said while looking at them coldly. Nagtinginan pa silang lahat bago sabay sabay na lumabas.

The moment they went out, I heaved a sighed.

"I told you to stop talking about it! You don't know what she's feeling because you've never been there! Hindi ka pa nabubuntis dahil ayaw mong mabuntis! How dare you judge her? You've never been a Mother, Linnaea."

"And you'll never be."

Gusto kong maiyak nang marinig yon. But why would I cry infront of him? Of them?

I won't give them the satisfaction. 

I stood up and went to my veranda to inhale some fresh air. Niyakap ko ang sarili nang maramdaman ang malamig na simoy ng hangin. I was just staring at nowhere when I felt something on my skin. Napalingon ako sa gilid at nakita si Westin na naglagay ng coat sa balikat ko. Nakatingin lang din sya sa harapan at hindi ako nililingon.

"Stop crying," he uttered. Kumunot ang noo ko at napahawak sa pisngi. I sighed because of the realization. Yumuko ako para mapunasan yon but he talked again.

"Wag ka ding yumuyuko," reklamo nya na nagpaawang sa labi ko.

"I'll just wipe it--."

"Wipe it without doing that," he cutted me and turned his whole attention on me now. I wanted to rolled my eyes at him.

"What the fuck is your problem?" I asked, annoyed.

He chuckled and wipe my tears instead, "Hindi nga bagay sayo ang yumuyuko." 

"What? Are you saying that I'm not a normal human?" 

"Yes, you're a Queen. And Queens aren't supposed to bow down." He answered. Is he serious?

Hindi ko nalang pinansin at lumayo ng kaunti sa kanya. Natawa naman sya dahil sa ginawa ko.

"I'm here to comflirt you again, you should marry me instead. I would never hurt you, you know." he said with a smirk. Hindi ako sumagot kaya nagpatuloy sya.

"Then I won't get upset even if you don't want a child yet--."

"Stop it and just leave me alone." I cutted him that made him laughed.

"I was joking!" Pagtanggol nya sa sarili na inirapan ko nalang. We went silent for the past minutes but it's not uncomfortable or awkward. 

"Cha's baby." he said.

"It's dead." he added.

Napaawang ang labi ko. 

"And you know the reason?" he asked.

"She aborted it?"

Napanguso sya sa sagot ko.

"Nope," he answered and looked at me. "She...sacrificed her child."
