The reaction I got from Danni is much better than I expected. She just nods her head and stares up at the ceiling.

“Its not easy not to like him. He’s funny and cute.” She pauses, “And also the only boy left on the face of this planet.”

She scotches closer to me and then lets out a chuckle.

“The only man left on earth is in the clutches of three unattractive women. Who will he choose?” Danni says in a dramatic voice.

“Dun Dun Dun” I reply, a smile creeping onto my face.

She laughs and pushes me off the chair. I fall on my butt and then flip her off. She sneers and then sits in the chair. I then sit on top of her.

“Ho, ho, ho. What would you like for Christmas?” She says and bounces me on her knee.

I laugh and stand up. I stretch my arms above my head and I hear my shoulders and elbows crack.

“Crickity crack crack crack.” Danni says.

I groan.

“Fun can’t last forever can it?” She asks, her demeaner changing suddenly.

I shake my head.

“Not forever.” I say, “But then again, it couldn’t last forever even before the zombies came either.”

She nods.

“True true.”

“Do you think Margret’s awake yet?” I ask, trying to change the subject.

“Is she ever at this time in the morning?”

I pretend to think about it.

“Yeah, no never.” She says.

I snicker.

“I have also found Cooper likes to sleep in too.” I say

“Yup,” Danni says

Then she sighs.

“Just like Margret.” She says

I punch her lightly. She punches me back twice as hard, knocking me off balance. She points at me and lets out a silent laugh.

“Just don’t think about that ok?” I ask.

“Well, I try every day, but Cooper seems to be the only thing on my mind lately.”

“I know” I say.

“Don’t we all?”

“Yup!”

“Hah! I’m going to put on new clothes. I’ve been wearing these since Cooper got here. They are staring to stink.”

She stands up and walks away, leaving me standing next to an empty chair, feeling so very alone.

“Get the fucking bucket!”

hmmmmmmm I groan and roll over.

“Get off your lazy ass and help me grab the bucket.”

“what the hell is happening that we need to get the bucket so fast?” I ask, still lying on the ground with my eyes closed.

“It’s raining!”

That gets me up fast.

Still half asleep I clumsily run over to wear we keep the bucket. I grope around in the darkness, and not finding anything grunt. I can slightly hear the rain pattering on the roof, and I have no clue how long it has been going on for or how long it will last. Danni, being on duty for the night probably got us up as soon as she heard it. Or, well, she got me up at least.
