My First Job

I was studying the request board and a job caught my eye. It said something along the lines of, Dark Wizard in our town and Blah, Blah, Blah, please get rid of...8,000,000 Jewel. I shrugged my shoulders and brought the flyer to Mira. Mira smiled at me and I smiled back as she picked up the flyer.

"Do you have someone to go with you?" She asked as she stamped it for approval. I shook my head, "Mira, you are the only one, besides Gramps, who knows my power. You know I don't need any help with this." Mira nodded, "I know, but its much more fun with friends!" My shoulders slumped and I asked, "Who do you have in mind?"

"Team Natsu." She said. Then she leaned in close to me with a weird smile. "Natsu's kind of cute...Don't yay think?"

Okaaaaay. Totally avoiding that. I blinked and rubbed my neck. "I don't know, Mira...I don't work well with others." I muttered. I looked up and noticed that she was already waving her hand at someone. "Mira!" I whisper/shouted.

I turned my head a little to see who she was calling and my heart gave a little thud when I saw pink hair. I spun back around and grabbed Mira's hand. "Mira, I can't believe you-" I didn't get to finish my sentence because I could feel his warm presence from behind me. Natsu.

"What's up, Mira?"

I shot daggers at Mira but she was oblivious to them. "Freya needs a partner to go on this job with." Natsu crossed his arms, "What's the job?" Mira handed it to him, "Something that you'll like." Natsu scanned it, like I had, and a smile played on his lips. "Oh, yay, this is my kinda job!" That was the only warning I got. Because the next thing I knew, Natsu had grabbed my arm, and started to drag me out of the Guild. "O-oi! N-Natsu, slow down!" I yelled at him. I had a glimpse of Mira waving and smiling before he dragged me around the corner. "What about the others?" I asked him, trying to keep up with his long legged pace. "Eh? Its just you and me on this job." I blinked. "What? Why?" He looked over his shoulder at me, "Erza and the Snowman are on a mission together. Lucy has a cold and she gave that cold to Happy. And Wendy is over there trying to heal them or whatever." My jaw clenched...Mira.

That match maker straight from hell.

We headed to the train station and while we waited for the train to arrive I unfolded the flyer and looked over it. There was something I had missed.

Warning: This Dark Wizard can shape-shift into any animal or person. The only way to tell that the Wizard has shape shifted is by looking into its eyes. The eyes are either red or a very bright blue.

"Huh." I muttered under my breath. Natsu came up to my side and looked down at the flyer. "What is it?" Before I could tell him or show him the flyer he leaned in close. Our faces were so close that if either one of us shifted, even just a little, out cheeks would brush. While he read the warning I tried to stay perfectly still. "Now I'm all fired up!" He said with a smile. Just then the train arrived and he moved away.

I got to breath again.

A boy had never been so close to me before. I bit my lip and began moving toward the train. I stopped when I realized that Natsu was not behind me. I looked over my shoulder and there he was, staring at the train like he wanted to set it on fire.

"Natsu, what's wrong?" He blinked and shook his head at the train. "I hate trains." He scowled darkly at the machine. I looked to my right then my left. Was this some sort of weird joke? "Umm, Natsu, we need to get on the train now. Why don't you like the train?" He looked at me and to my surprise, his face started to turn green.

"I have motion sickness."
