Chapter 51: Torture

Torture

My eyes widened and the man leaned back. With a roll of his eyes he told me with a bored voice. "He told me you would act this way." He?
"Who are you talking about?" I asked through clenched teeth. The man ignored me as he sighed and rubbed his jaw. "Oh, and that boy isn't really the reason why you're really here." The man said like an afterthought.

My eyes widened for a fraction of a second, but he caught it. His lips tilted up a little, "Are you confused? I know I would be." He told me with a creepy chuckle that made my blood run cold. "Oh!" He suddenly said, snapping his fingers. "I almost forgot." He then reached into his suit and pulled out a folded up piece of paper.

I took a small step back as he unfolded the paper. Once it was unfolded, he threw it at me. I caught it and hesitantly looked down at the thing, not really wanting to take my eyes off the strange man. I quickly scanned the paper and my eyes widened as my heart started to pick up in my chest.

It was a wanted poster...of me.

Description: This woman is very dangerous. She is a top rated assassin who has taken the title of, 'Magnolia's Number One Assassin'. We do not have much information about this woman, but we do know that she is highly skilled and dangerous. However, we do believe she is heading further into Magnolia. We urge you all to be on high alert and do not engage her at any cost. If you do happen to see her, send word immediately to us.

I stared at the piece of paper in complete disbelief. I...I couldn't wrap my mind around this. So, this is what Gildarts had been talking about when he told me that even he had been out searching for me.

How...how did they know where I had gone? Dammit, this was my fault. I should have left a long time ago. Now, I had put my Guild and friends in danger. My eyes got caught up on the bottom of the paper, 'The Dark Wizard Master'. Who the hell was that and why was he after me?

I looked back up at the man who had taken me. "Do you work for him?" I asked him with narrowed eyes. The man quirked a eyebrow at me, "What do you think?" I clenched my teeth together, I thought yes. "What are you going to do with me now?" His dark eyes flashed to the wanted poster in my hand. "Exactly what that says to do if someone sees you." Ah, so he was going to turn me in to this Dark Wizard guy and most likely collect a hefty reward.

I cocked my head at him and I practically snarled. "Then what was that bullshit about Natsu Dragneel?" The man grinned at me and shook his head with a dark laugh. "I never said that was bullshit." My heart stopped and then began to jump around wildly in my chest. "Don't you dare touch him." I warned him lowly. "This will be the only warning you will receive."

He just smiled at me. Then,
with a wave of his hand, the door behind us opened, and he began walking towards it. "Oi! You better head my warning!" I shouted at him as I threw the paper away from me. He didn't even look back. My blood began to boil and I saw red. With a screech I ran at him. I reached out my hand and my hand wrapped around his jacket. I yanked and the man stumbled back from the only exit.
