WARNING! VIOLENCE!!

~NEXY POV~

I headed towards the coffee shop, where I told Bryan to meet me. I didn't know where else to meet him, but I knew the coffee shop would be a safe bet.

I walked in, and the smell of coffee hit my nose. Luca's mate looked up and saw me. She had a look of surprise. But there was something else. She was on her phone looking very upset. But it wasn't my place to worry about her. I didn't even know her.

"Welcome in." She said, placing her phone on the counter.

"Hi, thank you," I said with a smile. "I'll just do a black coffee today," I said, taking cash from my wallet.

"You want me to pay for that?" I heard a voice from behind. I quickly turned around and saw Bryan standing behind me. But no, Eudora. I immediately frowned.

"Where is she?" I questioned him.

"Hotel." He replied. Hotel? He left my fucking daughter alone in a hotel?!

"Are you insane?" I snapped at him. But he quickly grabbed my face with his hand and pulled me close.

"Watch your fucking tone with me." He murmured, hoping the barista wouldn't hear, but she was a wolf. She heard everything. I moved his hand away and turned my attention to her, giving her a fake smile.

"I apologize. Um, medium black coffee, please." I said again, putting my money back in my wallet. "My boyfriend here is going to be paying." She stared at me and then Bryan looking worried. But I smiled at her.

"I'll have the same thing as her," Bryan said, pulling out his wallet and handing her money.

"O-of course. I-I'll get those for you." She muttered and quickly walked off grabbing her phone.

"I hate when you make me angry in public," Bryan whispered. "Do you want me to teach you a fucking lesson?"

"I'm sorry," I whispered, lowering my head.

"I'm not fucking stupid like you, Nexy. I didn't leave her alone." He snapped at me. My guess was his sister was here. I always hated his sister. She came into his room once while he was beating me and started laughing. She kept saying that I deserved it for being a whore.

"Here you are." Luca's mate returned with our coffees. "I-is there anything else I can get for you?" She kept her eyes glued to me. "Please, let me know, and I will help."

"We're fine." I gave her the biggest fake smile. But internally, I was shouting for help.

"Thank you, the coffee is good," Bryan said to her with a smile. But she kept her eyes on me.

"Let's go see Eudora," Bryan said, wrapping his arm around me as he led me outside.

"Is your sister here?" I asked him. I wanted to confirm that she was here.

"Yes. She's watching Eudora." He replied.

"I see," I said, taking a sip of coffee.

I couldn't believe I was stupid enough to leave my daughter with them. But I thought somebody else would adopt her. I never realized that the hospital contacted him to pick her up. It wasn't until a few days later that he sent me a picture of her that I found that he had her. And yet, I did nothing to take her away from him. I was so scared. It's not like I wanted her in the first place. She was a constant reminder of what he did to me.

But I knew the fear of being around him, and I didn't want her to suffer. Not only that but now I had the merfolk to worry about. I needed to keep her safe from them.
