(31) Baby Nova

Miranda

(39 Weeks)

My mum and dad came from England, I was in the nursery preparing some stuff. My dad and Joonas were in the living room talking about something. I got the pregnancy bag ready.

We were done in there. I was following her out into the corridor until I felt a liquid trickle down my leg.

"Mum my water broke!" I said, she grabs me and pulls me out.

"Boys it's time!" My mother says to them. Joonas stood up and stayed in shock until he came to reality.

"Get the car son!" My father says throwing his car keys at Joonas and he rushes out of the apartment gives my father the key to lock up.

Everything was a blur!

(At the Hospital)

Oh God this was going to be a long night. As first contraction pain came, God I hated Joonas Henrik Porko for this. They kept coming and I was scared.

My mum was with me, and she held my hand. I didn't want Joonas to witness this carnage that was about take place.

After a few painful and execrating pushes that I heard a baby crying.

"Congratulations Ms La Fay it's a healthy girl." The doctor says and I smiled. But I felt faint.

"Miranda?" My mum asks me. I smiled and I could feel my vision getting blurry. The last thing I heard.

"We need to stop the bleeding!" And I blacked out.

Joonas

Joel, Niko, Aleksi, Olli, Tommi and I were waiting for any news. Miranda's father was pacing around. Until Miranda's mother came out. All of us stood up.

"What's happening? Is the baby okay? Is she okay?" I asked her mother and she sighed.

"Yes the baby is fine, but it's Miranda she lost blood and they're trying to stop." She says while we all sat on the chair.

Niko looked extremely worried and sighed.

"Will she be okay?" I asked Niko and he shrugged.

"I don't know man." He says. The eight of us sat around waiting anxiously. The doctor came out and called out. The eight of us rush over.

"We managed to stop the bleeding, but she's lost a lot of blood. She's stable now. You folks can go home." The doctor says. I saw her mother looked exhausted.

"You folks can head home. I'll stay the night with her." I tell her parents and they nodded. The nurse took me into her room and I sat on the chair next to the bed. And there was a crib close by, there was the little one in a pink bundle sleeping.

I sighed, God I was so overwhelmed she could have died. I sat next to her chair and hold her hand.

"Hey you did good Miranda, she's so beautiful." I whisper. Her half black and white hair sprawled out on the pillow, she looked like an angel. I sighed, God I hope she pulled through.

I found myself falling asleep, my head on her lap.

(The Next Morning)

I woke up and heard cooing coming from the crib, I saw that little baby was sleeping and it opened her eyes. She had an interesting mixture of blue and green eyes. God what was I supposed to do?

I decided to pick up the baby, and walk back to the chair and sat down. Oh my God such a tiny little human in my arms. Would I be able to do this?

Take care of this little one in arms, I sighed. It was the most precious thing I had ever seen but I was scared as hell. I sighed, when the nurse came and said.

"It's alright we just have to check how the baby is doing. I promise we'll bring her back." The nurse says. I sighed and held Miranda's hand again.

God help me! I sighed and I saw Miranda waking up.

"Hey Mira! I'm here." I say and she smiles at me. She was touching her stomach.

"The baby Joonas!" She sat up quickly, I got her a glass of water.

"Easy you've lost a lot of blood, and the baby is fine. She's beautiful, but it's you I'm worried about." I say to her.

"I'm fine Joonas really." She says and I kissed her forehead.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asks.

"Because I thought... well we thought we lost you." I say.

Miranda

I woke up to some blinding lights, groaning as Joonas was sitting with me.

Hey Mira! I'm here." Joonas say and i smiled at him. I was touching my stomach.

"The baby Joonas!" I sat up quickly, I got me a glass of water.

"Easy you've lost a lot of blood, and the baby is fine. She's beautiful, but it's you I'm worried about." Joonas says to me, pushing me back to lay down.

"I'm fine Joonas really." I said and he kissed my forehead.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask.

"Because I thought... well we thought we lost you." I say.

Joonas looked deep in thought. Everything was going so well, but now the baby is here. He's becoming distant again.

"Joonas?" I called out causing him to jolt out of his daydream.

"I'm sorry Mira I'm quite overwhelmed right now." Joonas says with a sigh. I sigh and found myself saying.

"Just give me some time okay and I'll move from your flat and figure something out." I whisper with a sigh. I knew it, he didn't want this with me.

The nurse came in and brought my baby in. She placed the baby in my arms and I sighed. A little fuzz of blonde was showing and when she opened her eyes to meet mine.

They were a mixture of blue and green, I was thinking of a unique name for her.

"What shall we name her?" Joonas asks me causing me to jump. Nova.

"How about Nova La Fay or Nova Porko?" I asked the blonde haired guitarist.

"I think Nova Porko." Joonas says with a smile. He leaned forward and pressed his lips against mine.

"Knock! Knock! Can we see her?" I heard an overexcited Niko, while the five boys crowded around us. Although the one thing that surprised me the most is Olli.

"Wow Olli I know you'll be babysitting Nova!" I say with a laugh.

"Oh shut up!" He says and then Tommi laughs.

"Just if you babysit, make sure you don't forget the baby on the roof of your car like you did with your bass!" Tommi says. Joel, Aleksi, Niko and Tommi were crowded around the baby which cracked me up.

"Well look at this! This is our very own Blind Channel baby!" Niko says so excitedly. I was cracking up to see these men dressed in black gushing over a little baby.

"I think they're stealing the baby." Joonas says with a laugh.

"Indeed they are!" I said with a laugh.
