Too much confrontation for one day

~ the next day ~

"So what exactly came up yesterday?"

Yoshino looked at me expectantly. I knew he wouldn't let me get off as easily as he did the last time. I successfully dodged my whole team all day, so the dreaded moment of confrontation, that was bound to happen during practice, could be postponed as much as possible. But with Yoshino, it's a bit different; we and Yuui-chan eat lunch together and basically spend every break together so that confrontation wasn't unexpected but... Well, hope dies last.

I looked up to Yoshino but immediately diverted my eyes back to the sandwich in my hands when he met my eyes. "Well..."

"Mhm? Did something happen?" Yuui-chan looked at us, confusion written all over her face.
"Yesterday, Hinata skipped Volleyball for something... or someone"
"REALLY?!-"
"Ok no, wait I didn't skip! I left early!" I stood up pointing my finger at Yoshino as if accusing him of lying.

"That is your version of skipping when it comes to volleyball!" Yuui was standing too now, shaking me by my shoulders, with stars in her eyes, craving for some tea.

I looked to Yoshino for help but that sly cat looked so damn pleased with himself, watching from his seat on the table that I knew he had planned that all along.

You see, escaping Yoshino's interrogations is pretty easy just pretend to be embarrassed and he'll drop the topic, but Yuui-chan... She will do anything for good tea.

"You have to tell me! Are you dating someone?! For how long?? Do I know him?? Who asked who out?? Oh my god was that your first date?!" She let go of me and dropped back into her seat, hand under her chin "haaa young love"

I was still standing, looking at Yuui wondering how all of that made her conclude that I was dating someone.

"Yuui-chan... I... I am not dating anyone" at that both of them looked up at me. I sighed and finally took my seat.

"I... He... Well, we..." I groaned looking to the ceiling. Why is this so hard?

"His name is Oikawa, he tutored me in Japanese and maths yesterday" I picked up my juice box and started playing with the straw "Apparently his and my mother know each other from the past... or something? We all had dinner together one night and somehow we ended up playing Volleyball and then he offered to tutor me... Uuurgh! I don't know man, it all went by in a blur!"

Yoshino chuckled to my right, I looked up and was met with amused eyes and a small smile. "Ok, and why was that so hard? If it's just tutoring why didn't you just tell us?"

"I don't know... I guess I just didn't want you to think all your explaining was for nothing?"

He ruffled my hair before smacking me across the head "Baka! As if I don't know that I suck at explaining!"

I laughed punching his arm.

"Goooosh and here I was, thinking I would finally get some good tea. Damn it!" Yuui had her arms crossed in front of her chest but smiled nonetheless.

"Ah sorry, Yuui-chan. Guess you have to find some more interesting friends for that"

"Oh yes, please find some other friends!"

"HEY!"

And we immediately fell back into the usual banter, the confrontation I was stressing out about, already forgotten.

~ time skip to practice ~

No matter how well the whole Oikawa thing went down with Yoshino and Yuui, I was 100% sure things would look a little different with my team.

Especially Kageyama. I'm not sure what happened between them but they definitely can't stand each other.
Oh and Tanaka probably won't take it too well either.
And whenever Tanaka doesn't take something well Noya won't either... Maybe I should lie.

I came to the changing room quite late to avoid one-on-one confrontation with any of the three mentioned above- especially Kageyama.
When I entered the changing room, I nearly suffocated from the heavy mood. I tried to ignore it, to change as I always do, but not 30 seconds in Kageyama spoke up "What did you do yesterday?!"

Ok so here it is. The moment of truth. I'll just tell him and expalin- "Mom asked me to watch over Natsu" or, you know, I just lie, yep that's fine too. 

"Really?" 
"Yep" 
"Why?" 
"She had to work" 
"When did she came back home?" 
"Around 9 pm" 
"What did you make for dinner?" 
"Eh... Well-" 

"Oh my god! Kageyama drop it!" A hand appeared next to Kageyama's face, grabbing his ear and yanking it to our vice-captain, who was now standing next to him. 
"Some of us have responsibilities at home too. Now leave him alone and get going!" 

Never have I been this thankful for our mother crow. "Thank you Sugawara-san!" 
"It's nothing. Now get going practice is starting"
I smiled up at him and ran to the gym.

Practice went smooth for the most part. Kageyama still bothered me with questions about yesterday, of course only when Suga wasn't watching, and we messed up a few more quick attacks than usual but yes, rather smoothly. 
Well until my phone rang. 

It was after practice when we were all back in the locker room to change. I was packing up my things, ready to leave when my phone rang. Now the thing is, I wasn't holding my phone, nor was it in any of my pockets or my bag, no, in my endless wisdom, I decided to put it on the shelf where we normally put our bags. So, if you haven't guessed it already everyone remotely close to me could see whatever notification I get. And in my luck, it just happened to be Kageyama that stood next to me.

I just wanted to ask if you want to grab a coffee sometime? Or maybe watch a movie? 

My eyes widened when I saw who texted me and I immediately reached for my phone to get it out of Kageyama's sight, but when I turned around and saw the look on his face I knew it was too late. 

"Who... Who just texted you??" 
"Nobody. I should go now! See you!" 
"HEY! Stop!" 

I ran out of the door seeing Yuui and Yoshino at the bottom stair as usual. I ran as fast as possible jumping over the last four steps. I could hear Kageyama yelling after me. 

"Hina-chan! What's the matter?!" 
I ran past my friends grabbing their hands in the process, dragging them behind. 

"Hinata boke! Come back!" I glanced back seeing Kageyama at the bottom stairs. 
"Sorry! I'm not ready to die just yet!" I let go of my friends' hands and turned around. "See you tomorrow!"
