Inara handed Simon a couple packages, and he took them with great care. He eyes them as if they were a cup of water in the middle of the desert.
"It's just a standard companion immunisation package." She said.
"Thank you." Simon said.
"I'm not sure if it'll help in this situation."
"It wont hurt. Supplies down there are pretty rudimentary."
"Is there anything else I can do?" Inara looked so so worried.
"I don't think so. But I appreciate it."
"Keylee's very dear. To all of us." Inara said with a smile on her face. Simon felt a pang of guilt.
"Ah-I-I'm sorry. For my part in what happened. See-ah- I- I've never. I mean I don- Don't know how to-"
"You're lost in the woods. We all are, even the captain. The only difference is he likes it that way."
"No" Mal said walking into Inara's shuttle. "The only difference is, the woods are the only place I can see a clear path. What's your business here?" Mal asked Simon, his words armed with knives.
"It's my business." Inara said. "The usual. Gave the boy a few free thrusts since he's not long for this world." Simon looked down obviously embarrassed about the conversation. "What are you doing in my shuttle?"
"It's my shuttle." Mal said eyeing Simon as he removed himself from the conversation and headed out the door. "You rent it."
"And when I'm behind on the rent you can enter unasked." Mal glared at her then went after Simon, looking for another fight.
"You'll ruin her too you know." Mal said to Simon. "See this is the thing you're uncomprehending on. Everyone on this ship, even a legitimate business woman like her, their lives can be snatched away because of that fed." Mal and Simon stepped closer. "You got a solution for that? You gotta way around?"
Simon shrugged his shoulders. "I don't."
"Comes time someone got to deal with him. That should be you. But I don't think you got the guts. And I know you don't have the time." Simon was now confused.
"What do you mean?" There was a pause that seemed to go on forever.
"Kaylee's dead." Mal then walked away. Simon ran down the stairs to see for himself. His heart pounded as he made his way to the infirmary.

Question to those who are reading
Should there be a long interview between the crew (Mal, Book, Jayne,Wash, Zoe) and the Doctor on who and what he is, or should they have to figure it out on their own. As in like as the story progresses.
