"Serenity, this is shuttle one, what's your ETA?" Inara said over the com.
"Inara, hey. We're touching down at the eve's down docks in about" Wash trailed off to check. "ten minutes."
"I'll pin you there, thanks."
"Lookin forward to it. We missed you out here."
"Yeh." Inara said quietly. "Me too." And with that she was off to meet the crew.
"Persephone's docks wern't that clean. Certainly not like the cities it had. It was a core planet and had many Alliance troopers lurking around. People from all over were here. People from the outer rims, small gang members. But they alll came together and spoke one common language. Mandarin. And bad Mandarin at that. Usually it's saved for cursing but sometimes people had conversations.
Serenity was now boarding and opening up so Mal, Jayne, and Zoe and Wash could walk out into the mass of a dock.
"Now this shouldn't take too long." Mal started saying to the crew while checking his handheld gun. "Best time for departure is three hours. Grab any supplies we're low on." He looked at Wash. "Fuel her up." Wash left to do so.
"Sure love to find a brand new compression coil for the-" Kaylee started.
"Well you can find the King of all indium and I'll weir a shiny hat, but get us some passengers, ones that can pay. Alright?"
"Compression coil busts, we're drifting." Kaylee says hitting buttons on a small computer letting people know they're looking for passengers.
"Then it better not bust then." Mal said putting on his gloves. Mal, Jayne, and Zoe were about to leave when Wash called out to Zoe.
"Zhen tama yoa ming. Zhu yi." Zoe smiled.
"We will." She said, and they went their separate ways.

So yeah, this is the before I introduce the Doctor into this crazy stuff. I promise that you didn't miss anything. In time characters will be reveled and pasts will be known. Although fox decided that they wanted to cancel the show before most of it could be told I can assume what happens. Most of what I've written are little shorts that give you the beginning.
I will continue this because I already have a lot written down on paper and it would be a waste not to type it up. I'm taking most of my lines from the first episode of Firefly. After this chapter the Doctor will interfere with lines and jump in and out of scenes so if you've already seen the T.V. shows then you'll know the difference. If not then I hope the story only gets better from here.
