The Doctor was now going down the same steps Mal had earlier. He could tell there was an argument because of how tense the air was.

"Comes time someone got to deal with him." The Doctor heard Mal say. Simon was in front of Mal, and The Doctor could tell they were talking about the officer. "That should be you. But I doin't think you got the guts. And I know you don't have the time." Simon looked confused.

"What do you mean?" Simon asked. Mal paused.

"Kaylee's dead." Mal then turned to walk up the stair. The Doctor watched Simon run to the infirmary, but followed Mal to the pilots room instead.

"So." The Doctor said making Mal turn around. There was a pause and they both started laughing. They leaned on each other trying not to fall from laughing so hard. Wiping the tears from their eyes Mal took a deep breath.

"So how'd you know?" Mal asked.

"I was with her before you were. I may not be a trauma surgeon, but I know when someone's going to die." They smiled at each other.

"Did you see his face?" Mal said and the both started laughing again. They then moved upstairs to the polite room where the rest of the crew was.

"What's so funny?" Jayne asked. Mal explained the joke he pulled on Simon and the reaction face Simon gave. At the end of the story they all were in on the laugh.

"Oh," Wash said between breaths. "You are psychotic."

"No." Mal said. "You just should have seen his face." He breathed a sigh. "Wooh, I'm a bad man."

"And Kaylee's really ok?" Zoe asked.

"Yes." The Doctor said. "In a few days she should make a full recovery."

"Tell truth I didn't expect her to heal this quick. Doctor knows his trade." Light beeps were going off and Wash turned to the intercom.

"We're being hailed." Wash said.

"That'd be Patience." Mal said. "We're close enough for vid. put her up." Wash stood up so Mal could sit down and be seen in the camera.

"Malcolm Reynolds?" An old woman said and appeared as soon as Mal flipped the switch next to the camera.

"Hello Patience." Mal said.

"I have to say I didn't look to be hearin' from you anytime soon." Patience said.

"Well we, may not have parted on the best of terms. Realize certain words were exchanged. Also, certain bullets. But that's air through the engine. It's past. We're business people. 'Sides you days of fightin' over savage rights are long behind you but I hear, what are you? Mayor now?"

"Just about. You tell the truth about that cargo? 'Cause your askin' price is a bit to reasonable for that much treasure."

"It's imprinted. Alliance, hence the discount."

"Oh, government goods huh?"

"That doesn't work for ya, no harm. Just thought you could use-"

"Alliance don't scare me. I like you're up-front about it. We can deal. I'll up load coordinates for our rondevu point outside of town."

"See ya in the world." Mal waited for the screen to flicker black until he spoke again. "I believe that woman's plannin' to shoot me again."

"She meant to pay ya she'd a haggled ya down some." Jayne said.

"Just a little effort to hide it would have boon-" Wash started but it was cut off by the sound of empty cups and bottles hitting the floor. Mal had shoved off everything that was on the counter.

"Sir, we don't have to deal with her." Zoe said.

"Yes, we do." Mal replied.

"Well why don't you get her first?" The Doctor said. Everyone turned to him. They had forgotten he was there.

"See, what you really saw,-" Mal tried to cover looking at the crew for support.

"I know what's going on. Doesn't bother me, I'd even be glad to help." The Doctor said.

"I agree with the Doc." Jayne said. "Why don't we shoot her first.?"

"It is her turn." Wash said.

"Well that doesn't get us what we need either." Mal said.

"Well lets not go back to the shooting idea. Who don't you just take out the helper, don't kill them, and force her into a good and fair trade." The Doctor suggested.

Zoe gave the Doctor a look and turned to Mal. "There's moons on this belt we ain't seen. We could try our luck-"

"Our luck?" Mal said gritting his teeth. "You notice anything particular 'bout our luck these past few days? Any kind of pattern? You depend on luck you end up on the drift. No fuel, no prospects. Beggin' for Alliance work. That ain't us. Not ever. Patience got the money, and she will one way or another. There's obstacles in our path and we gotta deal with them one by one. We'll get through this. We will."

Everyone left the room after that to get ready for the deal. They formed some sort of plan with the Doctor to outsmart Patience and were off.

Woooo! Another chapter down. I didn't really want to post anything until I got rid of my writers block. Ya'll didn't post any comments on what you think should happen so I went with what I originally thought. Which you will find out in about five chapters. :)

Soo Vote Comment and keep looking for my next chapters.

P.S. I'm thinking about another Firefly story (Only no Doctor who :( ) And also another Doctor who Fan-fiction but one with a different character similar to the other Firefly idea. And then I'm thinking about using a different character in a Harry Potter series but that's completely different. :)

Until Next Time!
