6 years later

Mal floated in a space suit breathing silently.

"Vaults sealed." He said into the com. He faced a metal door floating with him. "Ok I'm gonna blow it. "He didn't take his eyes off it. "Jayne." he said to another man in a suit floating close to Mal. "Get me the sticky." Jayne nodded as best he could in the suit. He handed Mal a gun that had some sort of jell coming out of tip of it. Mal took it and placed the jell side on the outsides of the handle. Very carefully he squeezed a circle around it, and attached some sort of heating device on the jell. The jell then heated up to a point where it was now burning through the medal.

"Ok." Mal started. "We get the goods. We're off this wreck and back on the ship. No worries." The wreckage of an old ship looked horrible and torn to shreds.

"Everything looks good from here." Wash said from the ship. He now had his toy dinosaurs in his hands playing like a little kid. "Yes, yes." He made one say. "This is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land and we will call it..." He paused in thought. "This land." He turned the other toy to the original. "I think we should call it your grave! Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal. Ah Ha Ha Ha, mine is an evil laugh. Now Die!" He crashed the dinosaurs together indicating a fight. "Oh no! Oh dear God in heaven." While making such noises, alarms started going off. He quickly moved the toys to see what was going on. "Oh, son of a bitch."

The compressed air pushed out the new hole they made with the jell. Zoe smiled in accomplishment.

"Full pressure. The goods must be intact." Mal and Jayne were now opening up the vault shining a light to see what was in there. Four large containers sat there, now owned by Mal and his crew.

"Ok, lookin' good." Mal said.

""Captain, we've got incoming Alliance cruiser bearing right down on us." Wash said over the com.

"Ta ma de. You think they've spotted us?"

"I can't tell if-"

"Have they hailed us?" Mal said cutting off Wash.

Jayne looked around. "If they’re here for the salvage we're humped."

"If they found us at all we're humped." Zoe corrected. "Thevin' ain't exactly-"

"I don't like this." Jayne started to complain.

"Bi zui!" Mal said shutting them both off. "Wash? Shut it down, now. Everything but the air." Which is exactly what he did. You could see  lights flickering off as Wash scrambled to shut everything down.

"Kaylee." Wash said over the ships com. Kaylee was now running towards the engine room. "Go to black out. Repeat."

"Shi, going dark." She said shutting down everything in the room. She ran and climbed towards the top of the side wall where the switch was and flipped it. The lights went down immediately and everything was pitch black. "Ok, now I can't get down."

ALLIANCE CRUISER

"So what am I looking at?"

"It's a carrier 'bout a few months back lost all hands but it was run by only a small term crew anyway." A soldier said.

"Dan shame." The Captain responded. "No point in checking for survivors?"

SERENITY

"Wash?" Mal asked. "Slowin' down?"

"That's a neg. doesn’t look like they're interested in us. We'll be eating wake in a minute or two." Wash responded. Mal, Jayne, and Zoe tried to stay as still as possible.

CRUISER

"Sir." The soldier said. "There is a reading on that thing. Some residual heat."

"Do a sweep."

SERENITY

Alarms were now silently going off as the Alliance swept the area.

"Aiya! Huaile." Wash says. "Captain we're humped. Remove the stuff."

"We move these in, double time. "Mal said to Jayne and Zoe.

"Kaylee fire it up!" Wash said hitting all kinds of buttons ready to boo it.

CRUISER

"It's a transport ship. Firefly class." The soldier said.

"They still make those?" Another one asked.

"It's an illegal salvage. Low life vultures picking off the flesh off the dead." The Captain said.

"Should I deploy gunships and bring her in?"

With the thought the Captain said, "Do it."

SERENITY

Mal was bringing up the last of the cargo going as fast as he could.

"Cry baby cry." Mal said to Wash.

"Make your mother sigh." Wash replied pulling and pushing leavers. "Releasing the cry baby."

CRUISER

"Captain. I'm picking up a distress signal, thirteen clicks ahead from us. Sounds like a personal carrier."

SERENITY

Zoe was transferring the cargo from Mal to the ship.

CRUISER

"Definitely looks like a big ship sir. And she's without power."

SERENITY

The doors were now closing on the ship. Jayne hitting the oxygen and gravity buttons.

"Wash, we're on. GO!" And with that Serenity was off headed in the opposite direction of the cry baby.

"Hang on travelers." Wash said.

Jayne smiled taking off his helmet. "Let's moon them."

CRUISER

"They're getting away sir. Should we continue deployment?"

"Our gunship would never get back to us in time." The captain said sighing. "All right lets go help these people. But put out a bulletin on the core text and flag Interpol. A Firefly with possible stolen goods on board." The captain was now walking away mumbling things under his breath.

SERENITY

"We look shiney Captain." Wash said through the com. "They're not, repeat not coming about."

"Close one." Zoe said walking into the storage bunk with Mal and Jayne.

"It ain't one you walk away from." Jayne said dragging the now heavy boxes with him. "Now that we got the goods. I call that a win." Jayne ran back to get the rest.

"Right." Mal said to him walking away. "We win." But it didn't seem like a win to him. His face was still emotionally scarred from the war.
