A/N

Funnily enough, whilst editing I read something that said the one-night stand and was like hmmm I didn't write that.

In other words, please forgive any spelling areas due to the lack of sleep.

LOL... TUTs better be sleeping well. Then again, I know how you readers like to pull all-nighters.

So here I am to disrupt your sleep schedule. Mwahahahaha !)

Unexpected encounters, lead to unexpected adjustments that Adam doesn't like... but since Phoenix is there, it's okay.

Adam straightened his tie in his reflection before opening the door to the law firm and walking in.

Claudia had given Grace a lawyer's number as a suggestion, in the case against Kyle, having known him for a while.

According to the letter he had received from the court, Kyle was fighting for paternal responsibility, which allowed the father of a child to claim custody of a child if they are not married to the mother. Considering the circumstance of Líla's birth, that took his sister's life, Adam and Grace were placed as her official guardians but now that Kyle was back, things are more complicated than ever.

Adam looked to the sky wondering if his older sister, Líla, was watching everything now. All he knew for sure is that he would not let Kyle get away with his niece, especially after what he did to his sister.

Adam was escorted towards Brian Callaghan's office by the firm's secretary. She pointed down the corridor and to the left. "Dr Callaghan is just around the corner. You can't miss it."

Adam felt weird walking down the corridor; the office was buzzing, phones were ringing and people were walking all over the place getting documents.

It was almost like working in the kitchen, only more organised.

As Adam approached the end of the corridor, a man stepped into his view.

He spoke before he had time to think about it. "Phoenix?"

The man turned to face Adam and he immediately backtracked. The man was as handsome as Phoenix sharing the same features, such as the same facial structure and curly dark brunette hair, but was shorter than him and he had wrinkles showing his age.

Adam couldn't help but stare as the man smiled at him; he carried himself well, posture straight, and looked like he was ready to shoot a James Bond film. His eyes were the same hazel green as Phoenix's.

However, there was something much more dangerous and intimidating about them.

"Phoenix," he said the name as if he knew it and suddenly there was a curious flash in his eyes as he glanced over Adam from head to toe. "You must be Adda Wilhelm Morgenstern; aged 22; lives with his niece and foster mother; graduate of one of the world's top culinary schools, and I assume is here concerning a paternal lawsuit against the father of his niece."
