The pool is the perfect place to cool down – especially when things get steamy.

Once Phoenix arrived home, he tried to wake Adam up. He shook him gently, causing Adam to groan. "Come on, Wilhelm. I just need you to get into the house and then you can sleep."

Adam slowly got up, with the grumpiest face Phoenix had ever seen and it took everything in him not to laugh.

It almost looked like Grumpy Cat.

Adam crawled out of the car and blinked trying to look around. "That's not my house."

"No, it's mine. Let's go inside so I can call your mom and tell her you're safe."

Adam gasped, covering Phoenix's mouth and putting a finger over his own.

"Shhh, she can't know. She mustn't know I'm with you. I didn't kiss you today, okay? It would break her heart."

Adam smiled at Phoenix but it didn't reach his eyes. Phoenix felt the sting of rejection but he just nodded in agreement and led Adam to the house. He dialled for Grace, using Adam's phone, as Adam began to slip to the floor, falling asleep.

"Oh, no you don't." Phoenix caught him and made him stand up.

Grace answered the phone. "Adam?"

"Um, it's Phoenix."

There was a sigh of relief and irritation all at once. "Very well. Make sure to take care of him. I want him back before 12."

She cut the call.

Phoenix turned to face Adam only to find that he was gone.

He gazed around. "Adam?"

He made his way down the corridor and searched the rooms and living areas to look for him. He went upstairs to the guest bedroom to see if Adam was there. He heard a crash in the backyard and he looked out the window. When he did, he saw Adam climbing into the pool.

"Omg, Adam?!" Phoenix bolted down the stairs and made his way outside. "Adam, get out of the pool!"

"No."

"Now."

"No." He splashed the water like a five-year-old.

'Here we go again,' Phoenix thought, rolling his eyes. "Adam, you're going to get sick–"

"Do you think Kyle is going to win the case?"

Phoenix was taken aback by the question and let out a sigh.

"Brian is doing the best he can but things could get tricky since Kyle was released early under good behaviour. But no, I believe we will win. Even if Kyle is her father, he has a record behind him which we can use to our advantage and people don't change just like that."
