Todoroki's POV:
Fuyumi was kind enough to drop me off at UA's gates before work, but that meant that I arrived an hour before classes started. I decided I would use that time to drop my duffle in my dorm room and I shot a quick good morning text to Izuku. Shouldering my school bag, I rode the elevator down and wandered to the kitchen in search of tea and Iida, but mostly tea.
"Prince Charming!" I caught sight of a distinct blur of pink fluff before a body collided with mine. Then, large black and yellow iridescent eyes were taking over my entire field of vision.
"Ash."
"You gotta tell me how you got Blasty McSplode to let you carry him like that."
Taking a step back, I folded my arms loosely across my chest in an attempt to put some sort of barrier between me and the Alien Queen.
"Yeah! Like, omg, total swoon material. You literally swept him off his feet," Hagakure skipped up beside Ashido. Both girls were still in their pajamas and giggling.
"I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. We've all had to carry each other off battlefields or away from natural disasters or crime scenes at some point."
"Well sure," Ashido said. "But, any time Blasty gets carried off, he's kicking and screaming, or on a stretcher."
"Or unconscious," Hagakure chimed in.
I raised a brow, still not really comprehending why they, and some of our other classmates, decided to harp on the situation. "I need some tea."
I sidestepped the enthusiastic females in an attempt to evade further conversation. I should've known better.
"Oh, come on, Charmoroki! There's got to be more to it than that," Ashido fell in step beside me, boring holes into the side of my head with her eyes.
"He broke his ankle. Recovery Girl told him not to put pressure on it after she healed it so... I carried him," I shrugged.
"But how did you get him to let you?"
I made it into the kitchen and discovered that some kind soul had already made a pot of tea. I lifted the lid and inhaled deeply. Ah, green tea. Perfect.
Ashido and Hagakuri were still babbling away and trying to get my attention but I chose to ignore them and enjoy my cup of tea before class.
"Hagakuri! Ashido!" Iida's booming voice almost startled me. "Class begins in 30 minutes. You should quickly change into your school uniforms or you will be late!"
"Oh, shit!" the pair jumped and scurried away.
I leaned back against the counter, finally able to fully relax. "Thanks Class Rep."
"I could hear what they were discussing with you as soon as I got off the elevator. I believe we had to deal with quite enough of that silliness in the group chat over the weekend."
I just nodded, pulled my cell phone from my pocket, and took another sip of tea. "Have you heard from Midoriya? Do you know if he's back on campus?" He still hadn't replied to my text and I was trying not to be too concerned by that.
"I haven't heard from him since yesterday afternoon. He texted to check in and inform me that he was spending the night at his mom's house."
"I haven't heard from him since last night either," I frowned at my phone screen.
"I am sure he will be here before class starts. Midoriya is rarely late."
"No. You're right." I pocketed my phone and moved to wash my empty cup in the sink. "He'll likely slip in just as the bell rings."
