Bakugou's POV:
Deku just had to choose now to talk to me. We couldn't fuckin talk on the way to the training grounds? I need a minute to think and I can't think straight with that nerd around me right now.
I started my breathing exercises to try and calm down. Too many different emotions were going through me, and I didn't want to default to rage like I normally do. I just needed a fucking minute.
"What'd you want to talk about. Spit it out already. I got shit to do before we train," I said as calmly as possible. Maybe through gritted teeth.
"Ah, that's what I wanted to talk about," Deku walked ahead of me and pressed the button for the elevator, before turning to me with a grimace. "A-All Might wants me to train alone tonight. S-said he needed to talk to me about something."
So, he wasn't bullshitting. All Might's really going to give permission for Deku to share his secret. About damn time.
"Yeah, okay," the elevator dinged and I walked in as soon as the doors opened. "That it?" I turned around and the nerd was still standing where he was with a stupid look on his face like his brain was buffering. The doors started to close so I slammed my hand on one side and pushed them back open. That seemed to snap Deku out of it.
"You... you're not... mad?" He was tilting his head like a confused puppy.
"EH?" I snapped a little, "Why the hell would I be mad about something like that? You'll just tell me after."
Deku's face dropped and he stepped into the elevator and I let the doors close. "Of course I'll tell you, if it's something I CAN tell you." Deku was staring at the doors, avoiding looking at me.
"We said no more secrets. You promised no more secrets. You breaking promises now, Deku?"
"No, no!" He looked at me with wide, startled eyes. "I wouldn't! Of course if it's anything about OFA or AFO I'll tell you, but if it was about that, I don't see why All Might wouldn't want you there, too. He didn't even give me a hint about what he wants to talk about. It's actually making me kinda nervous that you're not going to be there," Ba-bump. "Then I thought maybe it had something to do with whatever you two talked about yesterday. What did you talk about yesterday? And why have you been so... irritable with All Might lately?" Now, Deku was looking at me with his brow creased, one step away from a full-on glare. Ba-bump my ass. This guy pisses me off. Breathe Katsuki.
I can't tell Deku that I'm the one that talked All Might into letting him share his secret with other people. If Deku knows I'm the one who did it... It'll look like I bullied All Might into trusting him. Did I bully All Might?... NO. I just pleaded my case. Persuaded him with undeniable facts.
"Can't tell you," the elevator doors opened on my floor, and I strode out into the hall without looking at him.
"You just said no secrets, Kacchan!" I stopped walking and he came around to stand in front of me. Forcing me to look at his annoying, obtrusive face.
"He pissed me off. We had a disagreement. We settled it. That's all I can tell you right now, okay?"
"So, you will tell me at some point then?" He had a hopeful look in his eyes now, and I kicked myself for my phrasing.
"Yeah."
"Okay, I can accept that," the damn nerd smiled at me. Damnit, don't smile at me like that!
