Friday July 2nd
Midoriya's POV:
I woke up to a warm hand gently rubbing my back. "Izuku. Izuku, wake up. You'll be stiff tomorrow if you sleep here all night.
I blinked my eyes open and lifted my head, trying to focus on my surroundings. I had fallen asleep at my desk. "Sho?"
I glanced around my room and my eyes landed on Kacchan. He was asleep in my bed, with loose papers, notebooks, and textbooks strewn around him. I looked back at Shoto. He was wearing pajamas and his hair was a mess. "What time is it?"
"Just past midnight," he answered
I yawned and stretched in my chair. I was already stiff, but it wasn't the first time I had ever fallen asleep while working on school assignments, and it probably wouldn't be the last. I focused my attention back to my bed, where Kacchan was softly snoring.
"There's no point in waking him," Shoto whispered. "Let's just clean up and make him a little more comfortable." Shoto started picking up Kacchan's books and placing them in his school bag. He had to lean over him to grab some of his papers and a binder, and I smiled at how gentle he was being. Shoto eased Kacchan's phone out from under one of his legs and tossed it to me.
I caught it, raising a brow in question. "Make sure his alarm is set," he spoke quietly, placing the last of Kacchan's things in his bag, and sitting it on the floor at the end of the bed.
I pressed the button, and punched in the 4-digit passcode, smiling when I got it right on the first try.
"How did you know the password?" Shoto asked.
"Auntie's birthday," I answered without looking up from the phone.
I made sure his alarms were set and placed his phone on the nightstand. Shoto pulled an extra blanket from the closet and I stepped over to the dresser to pull out a pair of pajamas. I glanced to the side and watched as Shoto carefully laid the blanket over Kacchan, and the sight left me almost breathless. Shoto was bent at the waist, his hand hovering over Kacchan for a moment, and just when I thought he was about to brush Kacchan's hair out of his face, he pulled his hand away and straightened his body. I turned around and closed the dresser drawer, attempting to compose myself, wishing Shoto had just followed through, but also, kind of glad he didn't. I might've spontaneously combusted at the sight. I followed Shoto out into the hall, turning off the light and gently closing the door on my way out.
"I guess you should sleep in Bakugou's room. Assuming his door isn't locked," Shoto gave me a tired look.
I nodded my head and quietly followed him down the hall to Kacchan's room. I stepped up to the door and grasped the handle, holding my breath. I felt my face fall when the handle actually turned.
I guess a part of me was hoping the door would be locked so I would have to sleep in Shoto's bed.
"You look just as disappointed as I feel," Shoto spoke softly and I faced him.
I wanted so badly to just be able to say 'screw it' and and follow him back to his room, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it, and I felt like such a coward. "Shoto, I-"
"It's alright, Izuku. We'll talk about it tomorrow, okay?" he took my hand, squeezing it, and all I could do was nod.
Shoto glanced up and down the hall, before leaning in and tenderly kissing me on the lips.
"Goodnight, Izuku."
"Goodnight, Shoto."
I watched as he walked down the hall to his room. He gave me a small wave, and I tried to smile at him, before he entered his room and quietly closed the door. I sighed and opened the door to Kacchan's room. I quickly changed into my pajamas and crawled into his bed. I closed my eyes and tried to fall asleep, but some things are easier said than done.
