Chapter 19

Daniel P.O.V

I couldn’t sleep last night because I kept thinking about what Emily said.

Should I really stay away from her? Would that make her happy? Question kept coming and I don’t even know what to do.

This is so frustrating. I really didn’t know that Alex feel the same way I do about her.

I think I’ll just skip school today. I thought

I walked to the phone and dialed the schools number.

Second later some one answered.

“Hello.” A teacher said

“Good morning sir.” I said “I’m very sorry but it seems like I can’t go to school today. I don’t feel well lately.”

“It’s ok. May I ask what year level are you and your name?”

“I’m a 3rd year student and my name is Daniel Cheng.”

“Ok Daniel. I’ll tell your teacher about you being sick today. Get well soon now.”

“Yes. Thank you very much.” I said before hanging up.

I made breakfast while thinking of what to do for today?

After I finished eating breakfast I went to take a nap.

I woke up and looked at the time it said 3:55 pm.

Whoa that was a long nap. Maybe I’m really tired. I thought

I went to the bathroom and took a warm relaxing hot bath.

I went and wrap a towel and dried my hair. When suddenly there was a knock at the door.

I open the door and there stood Alex.

We stare at each other for what seems like hours when suddenly she blushed and turned away.

I wonder for a moment why she would blush and turn away when I remember I have no clothes on.

I went inside of my room and I put on some clothes while I tell her to come in.

“Daniel would you mind wearing some clothes first before opening the door.” She said

“Sorry about that.” I said

“It’s ok. Just wear some clothes on next time before opening the door.”

“Why are you here anyway?” 

“I came to see if you were ok. I heard that you weren’t feeling well so I came here and check up on you.”

“Thanks.”

“No really it’s ok. But for real Daniel how do you feel do you have a fever or something?”

She went close to me and put her hand in my forehead.

“No you don’t seem like you have a fever. Do you have a cold then?” She asked

“No.” I said

“Then what’s wrong? Come on tell me.”

“Nothing’s wrong Alex. I just made an excuse so I wouldn’t go to school.”

“Why would you do that?”

“Cause I couldn’t think straight about something.”

“Tell me then maybe I can help.”

Yes you can help because these questions only you can answer. I thought

“No. I’ll just think of answer myself.” I said

“Oh come on tell me please.” She said lean close to my face and putting on her best puppy dog face.

“Ok. But you better tell me the truth.” I said

She nodded her head and went back to her seat.

I went to the seat beside her.

“Ok. What would you do when someone close to the one you love told you to stay away from them because you have hurt her feelings? And then you also found out that the person you loved love you back?”

“I would fight for her and tell her I love her.”

“What if I stayed away from her and thought that she would be happy?”

“Then you’re wrong because if you really love her you would fight for her.”

“Then what if she said that she would never want to see me again?”

“Then you should still never give up and try your best. If not asked her would it make her happy?”

“What if she said yes?”

“Then you should let go because just seeing her happy makes you happy as well.”

“But what if she got hurt?”

“Be there for her and comfort her as much as you loved her.”

“What if she pushed me away?”

“Then don’t give up. If she doesn’t want you at least be her friend and comfort her in her time of need.”

“But what if she’s you’re friend and will always be?”

“Then you should not give up. It’s like they say that friendship is the first step towards being a lover.”

“Then what should I do?”

“Tell her straight forward that you love her.”

“OK. Thanks Alex I really owe you one. I’ll tell her tomorrow how I feel.”

“You’re welcome Daniel. Remember I’ll always be here for you ok? And good luck.”

“Ok. Thanks.”I said “Bye.”

“Bye.”She said before walking out the door.

I went and made dinner before going to bed.

I went to bed with a smile on my face.

Finally I can tell her how I feel.
