Chapter 36

Daniel P.O.V

Emily and I have gotten our lunch.

We also got Alex's hers, Emily picked them while I paid for it.

We are now just looking for a place to seat, when I see Alex.

But something was wrong she was walking and looking around cautiously like there's something bad is going to happen.

"Hey! Alex!" I called her

She looked at me and gave me a smile, but her smile was not like the same smile she used to give whenever I see her.

She walked to us slowly while smiling.

Once she reach us and was about to say something when Emily told us that she found us some seats.

Walked to the table and sat are trays down while I gave Alex hers.

We started eating, while also talking about random stuff.

I noticed that Alex had been quiet and I see that Emily has noticed it too.

She looked at Alex worried written all over her face.

We looked at each other and she signaled me to do something.

"Alex what's your next subject?" I asked trying to lighten up the mood

"English, Why?" She asked

"Oh. Nothing just curious on what subject you're having next." I said

"Ok." I said

I looked at Emily and see her looking at Alex really getting more and more worried.

Emily came near me and whispered to me to meet her at the roof.

"Alex I'm going on ahead Ok?" Emily said

"Sure. Meet you at the classroom." Alex said

Emily walked out of the cafeteria turning a corner to head up to the roof.

Awhile after I excused myself and told Alex I was going to the restroom for awhile.

I left and went to the roof.

When I got there I see Emily sitting at a bench waiting for me.

I walked to the bench and sat down beside her.

There was a moment of silence until Emily spoke.

"Has Alex been acting weird since this morning?" She asked

I thought back on how Alex was acting this morning and that's when I realized.

"Now that I think of it, she has been acting strange." I said

"Daniel something's wrong." Emily said "Did you do something to her?"

"WHAT? NO!" I said

"Then why is she acting like this?"

"I don't know." I said while thinking on why Alex was acting this way.

"Then why is she avoiding you?"

"What? She's not avoiding me." I said

"Yes. She is." Emily said "If she's not then why is she so distant to you."

"I don't know." I said

Then I remembered Alex receiving a message before excusing herself to go to the restroom.

"Wait." I said

"What?" Emily said

"Maybe it has to do with the message she had receive?" I said

"What's that got to do with anything?" Emily asked

"Remember when Alex received a message before excusing herself?" I asked

"Yeah. So?" Emily asked still not getting it.

"So maybe the message has something to do with why Alex is acting this way." I said "Gets?"

Before Emily could answer the bell has rang signaling the end of Lunch.

Emily and I decided to continue this later after school before heading back to class.
